Batman Forever : Workprint

How’s that for a title?

Hey, everyone former editor " ThatGuyWhoEdits " making a return on here with a new/old Batman edit that’s been in development hell for quite sometime now mainly due to personal reasons along with watching various reviews of people’s viewing of the Schumacher cut that was shown at Kevin Smith’s screening & I want to get this off as I do wanna tackle other edits but this one just keeps pulling me back in whenever I learn something new about the cut & ugh it’s like poison ivy’s pheromone dust!

So what is the goal for this particular cut? Quite simple to recreate the workprint in which was shown at Kevin Smith’s screening given every info that was shared online who attended while using every bit of footage that is available from commercials, BTS, DVD extras, & music videos despite quality however not everything will be implemented as alot of the footage is unfinished or incomplete as they’re mere segments such as Nygma working on his invention before Bruce arrives ( U2 ) , Batman trying to remove the lock on the helicopter’s steering wheel then looking up as it’s too late ( U2 ) & finally Bruce waking up from his nightmare ( U2 ) HOWEVER I do believe this can be revised by using Batman Begins morning scene by deepfaking Val & Michael’s face onto Bale’s & Cain’s bodies along with recreating the dialogue from the script as well using AI but testing will be needed to see how it’ll look & sound.

From what I’ve gather is the workprint used various temp scores mostly from Elfman’s Batman work from the first 2 Burton films along with Beetlejuice, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure & even Edward Scissorhands ( surprisingly ) where’s Goldenthal’s Batman march is kept in tact but even some his work from Demolition Man & Interview with the vampire were included.

Before I begin need to note that while alot of the footage remains intact from the original film & from the sources mentioned some scenes were added in post thus their absence from the workprint so if anyone notice some things missing that’s the reason as I’m trying to be closed to the workprint & not be a full on extended or director’s cut.

  • CUTS & ADDITIONS -

Sorry but there’s too much to cover but let’s just say I really went through the ball park in making sure every scene had a new track added from the ones listed above where’s others work well without a score imo.

How’s the project coming along? Do you have any screenshots from the project?

No screenshots needed as the footage has remained unaltered aside from the deleted scenes which were restored amongst minor clips HOWEVER the only major alteration ( if you wanna call it that ) is the Bruce & Nygma first meeting which has the color pallet matching the deleted footage as a blue hue looks much better. Aside from that footage aside from the deleted scenes the footage remains the same.

Hey there! As a former fan editor of Batman Forever Remix (mixng Hans Zimmer / Danny Elfman, and other who worked on Arkham games and other animated movie scores) I am very interested in seeing this cut/edit!

Here’s some of the edits/clips I’ve worked on in the past.
