Info Wanted: Batman (60s tv series) - has any preserved them? — Page 2

Ah.  I have a friend with Freeview and a friend with a dish, and I've had direct TS rips from both of them of the same program and there's a real big difference both in picture and sound between the two.  Still, I guess it's still an improvement over what I'm guessing is videotape caps from analog cable, until itv4 gets around to reairing those eps.

Sure, fire away.

I've finally solved the issue I had when capping and now my

caps should now be 100% superior to ITV4 caps via terrestial.

But since those airings are apparently not uncut, I'd be willing

to hack it with the best uncut footage available.

If anyone has masters which are more uncut,

like those 'Studio Masters' VHS tapes, or digital transfers

(for example: DVD transfers), please contact me.

Good quality rip of the old FOX logo would also be appreciated.

well my delogo script works: http://imgur.com/a/IL2gd

Hmm, so we're right back where we started.

Quite a few 16mm episodes show up for time to time. This may be the best bet overall if there weren't serious budgetary concerns and the impossibility of finding all 120 as a print.

I found a thread somewhere where someone said something about being glad that they had digitally preserved all of their 16mms.

I'm sure if they meant to share them, though, they would've already. Seems like people would rather have you pay $$$ for the bootleg DVDs.

GnobeFan, those screenshots look fantastic, much better than anything I managed to cough up haha. I believe the old FOX logo is featured somewhere on the "Holy Batmania" DVD set, so if you have that, it might be worth checking out. I've got a copy somewhere, but I'm not sure exactly where it is.

Just for the record, here is the "Maybe Now" song which is usually missing from "Scat Darn Catwoman"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRvF5VABOAo

Far as I know, it's missing from ALL TV versions, this is the only major cut to itv 4 broadcasts though.

If I’m not back in five minutes, just wait longer!

I don't have that DVD which you're speaking of, unfortunately.

If anyone could cut that logo in .VOB format and

send it to me via PM, that'd be awesome.

GonbeFAN, I'll look for my copy when I next go back to uni. Due to what Molly said a few months back about Satellite being much higher quality than freeview, I decided to grab a capture card with satellite input, and I'm very glad I did, as, not only is the recorded file higher resolution (544x576 vs. 704x576) - it was just in time for itv-4's new on-screen logo, which comes off way cleaner than the old one did IMO (even on the freeview caps).
I was wondering GonbeFAN, would you be willing to add another member to this project? I have tonnes of stuff that could be used for extra material, as well as a probable lead on this "Studio Masters" set that's been circulating for years, which is supposed to be 100% uncut.

If I’m not back in five minutes, just wait longer!

Has this show ever been aired in native HD, i mean like not upscaled like theHub does with shows?

The odds of it ever being released on blu ray are probably zero.

Don't know if anyone is still working on this, but I have the 30 disc "Studio Masters" set and also the Holy Batmania DVD set in my collection. I also have alternate audio for the first two episodes (first episode with and without opening narration, and second episode recap with narration and an isolated music track for just the recap only). So I'm sure something could be done with that, along with some higher quality versions...the screencaps posted look great as it is.

Any possibility you could get the Studio Masters onto the Spleen?

*BUMP*

So, while ITV4 has (temporarily ?) stopped airing them for quite a while now and unfortunately there are way too many episodes I haven't capped.

I have however been recording it from the American channel Me-TV via a friend's capture box (no, not Molly, someone else) — from a quick look, these seem to be quite better quality than the ITV4 recordings, because of the higher bitrate and they should be mostly delogoable except for the few first and last seconds, which I guess could patch with a different source.

Also someone contacted me via PM a while back saying that they have capped quite a bunch of episodes from ITV4. Along with the 'Studio Master' VHS masters that have recently been uploaded, I might eventually start making HQ uncut hacks? Now, to just find myself the motivation and time to do so. :)

I upscaled the (uncut) Canadian TV Land capture to match the VHS master. I thought about upscaling both of them, but even at native res, the differences are easily noticable.

You do realize that the Star Wars Trilogy "definitive collection" laserdisc set was about $250...in 1993. Right now, that would be about $481.

$200 for the run of an entire show is nothing.

When you think about it, that's somewhere close to $1.50 per episode, or $13.85 per disc. I've seen other boxed sets go for similar prices (with less episodes!)

I'm sure it will come down in price, though...also, judging from the screencaps they've shown, not sure if having it on BD will be much of a picture upgrade.

Whether or not one needs all the bonus stuff that comes with the BD version, though...

Where have they shown screen caps?

you seriously think BluRay wont be a noticable improvement over the TVLand rips or VHS versions on Myspleen?

If youre referring to the images in the amazon link, those are just stock images, and not representative of the upcoming discs.

No, I meant BD vs. DVD. They're releasing it in both formats, but the DVD set doesn't come with all the bonus stuff.

The reason the price is high is that they had to pay or distribute points for all those celebrity cameos. The very same reason we got this so late in the digital game.

I'm surprised no one mentions this anywhere instead of complaining about the price.

Idunno, doesn't seem that expensive to me, for a 120 episode boxed set that isn't even out yet.

But yeah, hopefully it is completely uncut as promised.
