Team used to be the Atlanta Flames; I trust no further explanation is necessary.

So, in that same vein, the Chicago Flames would certainly work as well. However, we do have the Chicago Fire in MLS. Be a bit of a conflict, I suppose. When did the Atlanta Flames exist and in what league? Because wasn't Calgary one of the Original Six?

Maybe it's time for the Manglers to lay waste to Calgary so the name will be applicable?

Ouch! Is that for real? I guess there would have to be one heckuva markdown considering the overall condition of the place.

Go CUBS. Go BEARS. Go PISTONS. Ummm... that's about it.

It was reported on the radio this morning here in Chicago that the Cubs #1 priority at the winter meetings is to dish out Sosa (yay!) and the second priority is to get a new closer (yay!). Also, the Cubs are on the verge of resigning both Todd Walker (yay!) and Nomar Garciaparra (yay!).

That's four big yays for the Cubs this post season. There will be a big huge mutha of a yay when Sosa is finally dished. C'mon Dodgers or Mets. Come through for us.

I heard on ESPN towards the end of last week that the Mets were still interested in Sosa, but dropped ALL interest when the Giambi/Bonds stuff started to hit the fan. I wonder why?

Well, if that were truly the case, they never would have been interested in him in the first place. Did anyone see how small Sosa was this past season compared to seasons prior? He was a shadow of his former self. It's my opinion that he dropped the juice before the '04 season because of the controversy with him and the corked bat in '03. Afraid of an investigation. So, considering how badly he did in '04 (relative to previous seasons), they never should have been expressing interest in him period. There might still be hope.
