Um, Lethe, did you look at the date on my link? It said that a lunar eclipse is coming up on Wednesday, October 27. That was last night. The article was dated Oct. 1, 2004. Last year's October 27 was a Monday. The corresponding Wednesday was October 29. It referred to last year's eclipse only in that we're being treated to two lunar eclipses in a year's time.

Okay, maybe lunar eclipses aren't "extremely" rare. But it's still rare enough in that it happens once every 720+ days by your recollection. And I still consider it rare in that you cannot always see it from every place on Earth, either. So while a part of one hemisphere may be able to enjoy, a big chunk of the remainder of the planet cannot. And, you've gotta admit, that even rarer is the fact that it was going to happen the night that the Sox could win the series. If that's not the stars aligning themselves, then nothing is.

Oh, and it doesn't really matter anymore anyway as the SOX HAVE WON IT!!!!

Making it even more rare is that it was a TOTAL lunar eclipse. Very trippy to see, and borderline apocalyptic.

Now let's hope for a trifecta... New England Patriots won the Super Bowl in 2004 (granted it was the 2003 season, bear with me), Red Sox win the World Series, Democrat Senator John Kerry from Massachusetts becomes the next President. Things like this always work in threes.

I don't think it'll happen in threes this year buddy. But, what a rare event! I never would have expected a sweep. It is like a slap in the face to the cardinals, then they turned it into a (curse)-slap w/o a sut-out last game, wow.

Yes, we blew up the Bartman Ball. Some help it was. However we are currently cleaning house. We have bought out the options on Moises Alou and Mark Grudzielanek (as of yesterday). That means we might keep Todd Walker as our full-time second baseman and maybe we're freeing up funds to make a run for Beltran and resign Garciaparra. That would be sweet. Now, just cut loose Sosa. LOL. Hey, anyone notice that after Nomar left the Sox, they started playing very well. & Nomar went to the pre-cursed Cubbies. He is just a bad-luck charm....poor Cubs.

Nah, the Cubs were playing like crap this season before Nomar came over. Actually, for the first couple weeks that he was here, we only had 1 or 2 losses and the rest were ticked up in the win column. He did a lot to reenergize us when he first came over. But then we returned to our shitty ways soon afterward. I don't blame him. I blame the Cubs as a whole. They all dropped the ball, sometimes literally.
