Jambre didn't mention it, but this project is closer to having an official name, as reflected by the title of the thread.

Hey congrats on the your new "youngling" If you're not too late into the project I may have some footage to add. Most notably Omnibus which has some behind the scene footage and such. Check out my compilation tapes with tons of stuff:

If you want ESB related DVD-ROM content, how about this - Special In-Store Play Disc Featuring Excerpts From Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back

It is an LP rip in mp3 format advertising the ESB soundtrack album way back in 1980. It was posted on alt.binaries.starwars a few weeks ago.

Hey Russ,

Thanks but I am not really after DVD-ROM content. Rather I am looking for audio commentaries and behind the scenes footage.

Thanks anyway.

I found this info on empire on the internet movie database. I already posted it in the super 8 project thread but thought i should put it up here as well.

In the original theatrical release of the movie, after Luke is taken out of the Bacta tank, the medical droid is seen taking a sort of mask off of Luke's face.

A deleted scene that made it to a trailer shows C-3P0 on the ice planet of Hoth tearing a decal off a door where the rebels have contained the dreaded wampas.

When the film was first released, the scene at the end when the Millenium Falcon is docked to Home One and the camera pans to the medical ward window was different. It later changed after the initial release because George Lucas thought that there was some confusion as to where the Falcon was in relation to Luke and Leia in the medical ward.

The Super 8mm abridged version has different takes of Luke talking to Han whilst astride his tauntaun, and Han saying 'watch this' as he tries to jump to hyperspace in the asteriod field. Although the dialogue hasn't changed different emphasis are put on certain words.

by the way jambe don't know if you have hyperspace but they just put up some empire interviews in their audiocast section in mp3. These were they pre-recorded open ended interview reponses sent out to several radio stations/talk shows in 1980 0n lp. They go for quite a bit when on ebay.

Thanks for the IMDB heads up. However, some of that info is inaccurate.

I haven't heard about that about the 8mm release differences before...must investigate. Can anyone confirm this???

And, I've got the 1980 audio interviews thanks.

Thanks for you help.

I think he is still too busy to work on his Star Wars projects. Shame!

So guys I am still looking for the following and would be grateful if anyone could help:

- Ocpmovie's ESB Classic Edition
- Confirmation that the 8mm ESB release has some different takes

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Not sure about the 8mm, but it was mentioned a few posts up that the ending footage of the medical frigate was different in some releases. I know that the model footage was re-shot by George and ILM at the last minute. It seems some test audiences would have seen this alternate footage, but all the release prints had the new footage. I believe the Definitive Collection photo galleries has this info. I tried to look it up yesterday, but my Dr. Gonzo discs wouldn't play.

And I can send you the Classic Edition ESB, but it could be a week or so.

do you have the Kershner audio interview from the press event for the release of the original trilogy on dvd in 2004?

it is posted on the force.net.

What about the story of the empire strikes back LP?

Hi, I have a friend who might have some stuff you could use. I don't know if I'd be able to do a trade with him, but I can tell you what he's got. I am currently on a limited dial-up connection as my router was destroyed in a storm recently, so forgive me if I mention things that have already been covered. It's just too painfully slow to load even one page in a forum thread. Here's the stuff he has, a lot of it probably isn't pertinent to this project, but rather than risk leaving something out by trimming the list, I decided to post the entire thing:

• John Williams interview from 1989 (Has a lot more rare Williams stuff, including a documentary from UK TV from 1980)
• Original teaser and release trailers for SW, ESB & ROTJ (about 20 in total)
• Ben Burtt sound advice
• How the walkers walk
• Storyboard comparison of asteroid sequence in ESB
• Omnibus: George Lucas flying solo
• Omnibus: The Story of Star Wars
• The Force Returns: Sci-Fi Channel Special
• Mark Hamill on The Big Breakfast and GMTV
• George Lucas on The Big Breakfast
• Star Wars: The Magic And The Mystery
• Tatooine Or Bust
• Star Wars Or Bust
• Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition Documentary
• Extensive stills galleries from SW and ESB
• Walter Cronkite visits Lucas at ILM during making of ESB (apparently very rare)
• Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition Electronic Press Kit
• Interview With Hamill & Ford on Today Programme (1980)
• John Williams/C3-P0/R2-D2 concert (7.5mins)
• Exclusive Anthony Daniels Interview (conducted a few years ago)
• George Lucas Interview With Leonard Maltin
• The Lucasfilm Legacy

Let me know if it's worth trying to get any of that stuff for the project. Again, it's hard to strike up trades with him as I don't have much that he needs. Just thought I should try and help out with content for this before it's too late.

To contact me outside the forum, for trades and such my email address is my OT.com username @gmail.com

Does anyone have, or have seen the "Feel the Force" documentary that aired in the UK? Was it any good? Was there actually anything new, or was it a walmart bonus disc-esque release?

Thanks for that list - wow! I am certainly interested in the following

• John Williams interview from 1989 (Has a lot more rare Williams stuff, including a documentary from UK TV from 1980)

• Extensive stills galleries from SW and ESB
• Walter Cronkite visits Lucas at ILM during making of ESB (apparently very rare)
• Interview With Hamill & Ford on Today Programme (1980)
• Exclusive Anthony Daniels Interview (conducted a few years ago)

Thanks so much
