I always wanted to hire actors who could do good impersonations of Hamill, Fisher, Guinness etc. and record audio for the major deleted scenes from Empire (and Jedi). Such fascinating scenes, but very little/no actual video of them out there ....

Anyway, you're a good man for doing this, it looks class. I'd love to see a cut of it, even before you're done. =) Could think of a few things I'm sure, I may have thought about doing something very, uh, similar at one point y'know. =) If you're really desperate on the VH1 and the 20/20, you can ask me for 'em. I have extras lying around.

It's in quicktime H.264 to keep the quality high and the size small.

Here is another Mpeg4 version - give that a try and let me know.

I think "quicktime H.264" needs QT7 only available on Mac.

I've downloaded the 2nd version and that works. It's a nice little preview. I haven't actually seen much behind-the-scenes Star Wars stuff. I've yet to obtain and watch all of these great discs people have put together. So the footage snippets in there were interesting.

Just out of curiosity, how much of ESB do you think you've covered, that is, what percentage of completion is this project at?

Good question. The first 57 minutes are packed full, as are the final 42 minutes. There are some gaps at the moment but I am working hard to fill them.

I would say I am 85% or so complete in terms of movie length. Maybe 75% in terms of work.

While it does require QT7, it isn't only available on the Mac. You can also get the Windows Public Preview, which is now up to version 3, though I presume I only have version 1 (as I downloaded it over two months ago), but it worked just fine so I presume this version will be pretty solid.

how is this project coming along, very very interesting so far. Hopefully we will see deleted magic strikes back, or deleted magic return of the jedi, but until then your our only hope.

WOW I have seen this thread but never read until now. Must say I am very excited about this, cant wait to see an update. Do you plan on releasing this to a.b.starwars when done.

The project is coming along nicely. I have uncovered (with help) lots of relatively unseen behind the scenes footage as well as some great audio from the cast and crew and it all fits together great. The next stage is to decide what to do with the deleted scenes. But as we all know there is little or no footage available of them. So far I have been looking at the original marvel comic book and stills and editing together some montages. If there are any graphics experts (motion/after effects) willing to work on the deleted scenes with me, give me a shout.

In the meantime I am making a little step forward each time I tackle the project. My wife and I also have our first child on the way (should be a matter of days) so things may slow up for a bit. But I will keep you all informed! As far as a release, I am reckoning on early october. And I intend to get it out there in any way I can.

Hi all,

Now that my travels abroad for work are over for the year, I should be able to sit back down and finish this project off.

My daughter now 7 weeks old, should be settling down a bit too, so I hope to make some progress shortly.
