Unless there is more than one up there, it has two leachers and no seeders

Then I will seed it a bit more, aye...

I got some feedback from my latest sample and it's looking to soft with some jaggies but that will be okay as I can only use free tools (I already bought TMPGENc Plus) and have invested 120+ hours of video conversions so far but I'll try an all new GOP Structure as suggested (even thought I do not know what that is but I'll fudge the setting about) - BUT I've been told it still looks better then the official release by a few also (which is cool I figure - right?) BUT MY main concern here is the audio tracks and those look like they will be fine

I doubt either of you would unless you're also you're both making a isolated audio track!

ALSO....

If the source video is 29.97fps interlaced can I recode to 23.976fps progressive with 3:2 pulldown implemented by flags in the video stream? I tried but the resulting video was "jumpy" but then again I may have missed something. (BTW - I've never done MPEG to MPEG before so I'm just unsure)

see Rik,now you are doing the same stuff i am,changing the framerate, but to do that you have to IVTC the footage, dont you?because from what i have been doing is this,LD capture, then i run an avisynth script to IVTC the avi clip, then once that is done, then i can run filter chains and crop and re-size to make anamorphic widescreen, then after all that, damn this shit takes a long time LOL,then i encode with CCE SP,or you can just set your avi script up and open it in CCE and do the processing and encoding all at once, this is where the 36+ hours comes in to encode.
but you will probably have to use VDubMod and avisynth for your MPEG.
i really dont think you can take a 29.97fps and just encode to 23.976fps progressive without IVTC first, but i could be wrong, but i think that is why it is jumpy.

THANKS DJ!!

I'm gonna really work on the GOP as I think that may have caused the softness (I got my settings from a friend that does alot of Japanese stuff) so I'm running another test as I type (other PC )

Agreed. IVTC combines frames, so you end up with fewer frames. If you take a 29fps video and simply play it back at 24fps, you are just playing it slower. I've never tried to IVTC an MPEG, but I don't think it would be a very pretty sight.

DAMN there are so many soundtracks and so many alternate takes that doing the score is driving me crazy!!! (that's why I'm doing so many audio tracks) - I'm gonna runn a few versions by a few folks here to get there take on them and I'm also willing to take suggestions on what tracks to place (and where) so if you have any ideas please drop me a message

I'm going to take a few days off from the BR set and get Zootie running about 90% again this weekend and I also might try to get the B210 running as well AND I promise I'll answer a bunch of emails this weekend also!!

uhh...there are no alternate takes. there's only 1 soundtrack that's from the official tapes and that's the Gongo one. the rest are just re-recordings.

OKAY, let me state this ONE LAST TIME so those that do not SEEM TO UNDERSTAND will understand...

I'M ALSO MAKING AN ALTERNATE SOUNDTRACK SCORE (that means NOT like the one in the movie) AND I'M WORKING ON AN ISOLATED SCORE FOR THE MOVIE (using the score from MANY CD's and sources!!!) - Again this is my project and that's how I'm doing.

- Uhh, yes there are. It would seem that you do not have the 5 Esper CD's which have a few alternate takes and extended cuts and the "Sunetul Original Al Filmului Muzica De Vangelis" is missinge a few of these as well as some orther minor cues which the Esper sets have such as track 13 - Blade Runner Blues (Extended Version) or stuff like track 10. Seventh Sector - Apartment 9726 (Reprise) - AND THESE are the ALTERNATE tracks that I'm using in MY ALTERNATE SOUNDTRACK SCORE.

Cool. And where, exactly, do these esper sets have their music from? As far as i know, all the esper sets have music ripped right from the movie, sound effects and all. And I've NEVER heard of tracks directly from the recording sessions for the film OTHER than the Gongo. The rest were all re-recordings. So I wait for your enlightened response.

1 - I'm not a Blade Runner Expert (like yourself) nor have I EVER claimed to know anything about Blade Runner at all, but I dug the ORIGINAL movie as I saw it in the theaters (and I really dug your shrunk version of the HD broadcast of the D.C.) AND I'm certainly NOT a part or a member of the Esper Team, so I would have NO IDEA about any of the soundtracks or their sources (and I REALLY doubt you do either so UNLESS ESPER chimes in... its hearsay)

2 - I've NEVER heard of ANY of these CD's until I started this project so THEY are all new to me and I REALLY REALLY do not care about where they come from (notice I didn't ask for the source this time?!?) but if you REALLY care (like you seem to) go Google it or something.

3 - I have NO idea what I've done for you to be all over my ass on every forum I've posted on, First I try to work out some trades with you - you never get back at me about them, you’re always making some comment about any release I do or that you have a better version. (on and on and on much like a jealous child) Then you’re all over me because I simply asked for the source of the 1080i Blade Runner (which you went fucking nuts over and I was honestly just curious man) - so what's the deal man? I'm not the only one that has notice that you’re just a dick to some people. (and yes, I know that I'm an ass but I try to be cool to you and everyone else include all the people that email me asking to seed)

4. Please man, if you don't like my releases or my projects just don't deal with them, you know… OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND - I'm REALLY not doing them to please you.

5. I’m done with you and your needless, unwanted and unwarranted “blah, blah, blah”, so you win okay; YOU ARE THE WINNER of what ever it is you’re trying to achieve by all your witty comments and statements and I yield to your greatness. (Does this make you feel better now?) BUT please keep making your comments and remarks; my subscription to the Funny Times just lapsed

6. Are you enlightened yet?

Yet I must be honest, I will still trade for or download your DVD’s even though I do not like you as a person - I still do think you release some DAMN GREAT DVD’s!!!

Allright, wait I just ripped and burned a copy of BR with the DTS version MarblesMike uploaded for me, and once I find out if its synced like the regular CD (I don't have DTS on my computer so I'm gonna have to blindly poke and burn and watch on a console until I get it right on) then could I just send it to you via mail and you could rip the DTS audio off the DVD and toss it onto your edit?

(btw I gave up on the dialogue/sync editing)

- I can see what I can do but no promises as I'm not sure if I can use the DTS stream yet....

Is there anyone willing to take on recreating the unreleased trailer by Robert Randles? I have the MP3 file with dialogue that would help with a few of the visual cues.

I think that it would be need to have a fan recreated version of this trailer since we (as fans) have the audio for the trailer (thanks to the "Deck Definitive Edition - DECK ART - 765" CD) – I would like to add this to the bonus DVD[s]

Just to shed some light, I think it was the DECK ART release that had the John Williams piece on it. Can anyone confirm for me?

Yes, it does this is from the information I found while looking for the soundtracks with google...

Re: #6. No, I'm really not.

Every time i tried to contact you about a trade, you disappeared. No biggie. There isn't anything you have (that I'm aware of) that I would need at this point. No harm, no foul.

I'm just curious why someone who doesn't know much about Blade Runner and just "digs" it would try and create something like this. Wouldn't it make more sense to know the history of it? That's like me jumping out there and making some discs of Star Trek when I know jack shit about it.

You're also just taking discs (with the audio) and trying to make some sense out of them. That seems sloppy. Don't claim that you're going to have something that you can't possibly have. That screws people up.

I've downloaded the Esper CD's. They sound like complete shit. All they did was try and extract the soundtrack from the actual movie. It doesn't take much to be able to hear sound effects throughout.

And I've it's going to be "tit for tat," I've talked to people about your being a dick to others as well. Happy? And fyi, your little rant doesn't help that image.

If you can't take a little criticism, then why are you here doing this? Obviously this is still in the planning stages and since you, by your own admission, don't really know much about the movie, I thought I'd lend my 2 cents. But obviously you don't really care about that. You'd just prefer putting out something that's "cool."

I wasn't "all over you" regarding the BR 1080i thing. In fact, I wasn't the only one trying to get it through your head that it was a new transfer. You kept complaining about it when you had never even SEEN it and wouldn't drop it, even when several people said that it was a brand new transfer; here and on other forums. Maybe if you did the research (much like here), YOU, sir, would've been enlightened.

Oh and btw...funny how you didn't think of doing this until you saw how popular my Blade Runner set was. So now were "trumping" that (much like you did with the Superman discs) by releasing your own 4 disc set. Yah, that's really mature.

To be honest, do what you want with this set. Now, with you asking people to reconstruct a trailer that has footage that's not even in the final movie, this sounds like it's going to be one heaping mess. But if you had watched it enough, you would know that.....not to mention the fact that you're putting 2 versions of the movie on one disc...one of which (the workprint) has terrible quality as it is.
