BANNED BOND: The Criterion Collection on DVD (Released) — Page 7

Not because anyone asked, but because I'm attempting to learn the wonderful clone stamp tool in photoshop, here's a cover for the Dr. No of this series. I had to use it on the green "007" logo and to remove the wording from the rotoscoped artwork of bond stabbing the guard. Somehow it ended up looking like there's a teddy bear in the shadows. I guess I started this project too late.

That's a 100 dpi preview. The 300 dpi version if you're so inclined is here:

300 dpi version at rapidshare

edit: I see a few errors. I will fix them later this week.
Criterion Projects done: She's Gotta Have It, The Princess Bride, The Fisher King

In Progress Criterions: The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (99% done), Taxi Driver (90% done), Citizen Kane (50% done), Othello (99.99% done)

Possibly coming next: Ghostbusters, The Magnificent Ambersons (the theatrical cut, a reconstruction according to Prof. Carringer's script analysis, and the colorized version)

Thanks!

At this time, I'm working on a preservation of the longer "Spy Guise" version of the original Casino Royale T.V. broadcast that has not been out on DVD.

News about the Bond Ultimate Collection has been around for quite some time - I'm quite surprised you hadn't heard of them before now. I am greatly looking forward to picking up my R4 attache set on August 15th. However, your discs will still be a worthwhile addition what with the orginal audio and banned commentaries (still haven't managed to get them from anyone yet).

To contact me outside the forum, for trades and such my email address is my OT.com username @gmail.com

Hello

I hope you don't mind me writing to you but I recently found out that there are 3 banned Bond laserdisc commentaries.

I did some research on the internet and found this site. Can you help with any information.

Kind regards

Hi Paul,

Indeed I have - currently seeding Goldfinger with Rikter on myspleen.

They are a treasure trove of candid comments about the films specifically and the series in general. If you're a Bond fan of any era you really wouldn't want to miss them.

Should you want further info - turn on your PM's

Have clicked yes to allow private messages

I too am a huge Bond fan - so of course this is an essential must have purchase

in fact I've always being tempted to write the definitive Bond book - as good as some of them are I have never read one and thought - that's it - there's no point anyone doing another book - this has everything. It's just finding the time !!

I saw some of the dvd covers that people have designed - very impressed

I would like to send out a huge thank you to Meedermow as well!

Rikter, It was my pleasure to do the Banned Bond transfers from the Laserdiscs, and create the core DVD for everyone to enjoy. Your role in this conspiracy was invaluable.

I get a real satisfaction out of making this stuff.

It's great to have found a community of real fans that go out of their way to participate and freely share in the support of quality preservations and vastly entertaining fan edits.

All the great work that goes on around here from numerous contributors of transfers, artwork, research, and ultra rare source materials is astounding! The guys who run http://www.originaltrilogy.com get a big thanks too!

KENN, looks!! Great! Bond is one of my favorites......If there is anyway I can help lmk!! The Extras look great, I was looking at them and it looks like you ahve most of the stuff I hav!! Did you use the deleted footage WP scene?

Remember, Highlander, you’ve both still got your full measure of life. Use it well, and your future will be glorious.

Fascinating,

I had never heard of an official work print being in existence for Thunderball or any of the Pre-70's Bond's.

I do bet that The Ian Fleming Foundation sure world like to get their hands on a Thunderball work print if it truly exists, and would compensate the barer handsomely!!!

The IFF states on the Inside Thunderball segment of the SE DVD that there was a major deleted scene where Bond has a tour of the Disco Volante, but no footage of that segment is still in existance. Only a few productions stills remain.

The "Things I Do For England" Deleted Segment that I will have on my DVD was created by me using the Pan & Scan
Laserdisc and the Television Trailer that contains the rare out-take footage. The video has been color corrected as best we can
for optimal visual presentation for a composit. The entire segment is about 60 seconds, and 100% Fanfiltration made.

As for any other extras, this project is busting it's seams as it is. But exception will allways be made for any truly valuable Bond rarities that may drift into the Fanfiltration studios.

More to come...

Hey folks, I've been reading these forums for a while but finally decided to sign up.

I downloaded "From Russia With Love" from myspleen and the commentary is very, very enjoyable.

Today I went to check and see if "Goldfinger" had been uploaded- but myspleen seems to be dead.

Or at least I can't look at new torrents, etc.

Anyone know if the site is dead or nearly dead?

It'd be a shame because it's great site.

I contributed funds back when they were having troubles but I guess it just wasn't enough, sadly.

Anyhow, anyone got any info?

And if it the site is dead, anyone know how I can get my hands on those commentary tracks?

I'm really just interested in those since I have the DVD releases of the actual films.

Any info anyone can provide would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

And also I must take my hat to FanFiltration for transferring those laserdiscs to dvd.

They look great and they're a real treat for Bond fans everywhere.

So hats off to you, your a bond lover's best pal!

Not dead. Just acting st00pid.
It seems to be browser-related. Try a different browser or a different version of your favorite browser.
Firefox-1.0.7 & 1.5.0.4 both work for me, while Mozilla-1.7.8 doesn't work.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…
