Although I’m not quite sure where these are from, probably some Disney/Marvel comics that I won’t bother reading, I still though they were pretty cool-looking. They have kind of film-noir femme-fatale feel to them.

Although I’m not a fan of the idea of Yoda using a lightsaber, I still think this is a really cool-looking painting.

(I’m also wondering whether this was made pre-PT since his lightsaber is blue. His belt does however remind me of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan’s belts in TPM. Does anyone have any idea when this was made?)

I’m going to guess it was made between TPM and AOTC, as we didn’t see Yoda use a lightsaber in TPM.

Yeah, that would make sense.
However I did a google image search for Yoda’s lightsaber in ep. II & III and it looks just like the lightsaber in this painting. I also looked at pictures of Yoda from TPM, the original version, and I couldn’t see him carrying a lightsaber. So I guess this could have been made based on some early AOTC artwork, but until I find a specific date I’ll still be somewhat confused by this one.

Anyway, here’s some more awesome Yoda art that I found
These are by Tsuneo Sanda;

Star Wars is Surrealism, not Science Fiction (essay)
Original Trilogy Documentaries/Making-Ofs (YouTube, Vimeo, etc. finds)
Beyond the OT Documentaries/Making-Ofs (YouTube, Vimeo, etc. finds)
Amazon link to my novel; Dawn of the Karabu.

IIRC, the TPM Visual Dictionary provided an image of Yoda’s lightsaber hilt.

Ah right, that explains it. Thanks.

(I wonder he choose by though. Green would have been much more predictable. I’m guessing he assumed that Yoda would never have an actual lightsaber duel in the movies so he just chose the colour he thought looked nice.)

I want a picture of Mace Windu’s lightsaber hilt, specifically the one engraved with BAD M----- F-----*.

^ I like that Darth Vader is cast in the role of Van Helsing in the above pic.

Well, it may not be everyone’s ‘cup of tea,’ but I’ve always been a huge fan of the SW art of Cam Kennedy.

GREAT! I love his style!

“LUKE… I’M SEEING HIM.
HE’S COMMANDING THE IMPERIAL FORCES… LIKE OUR FATHER!
I FEAR WE LOST HIM, HAN… I FEAR WE LOST EVERYTHING.”

Apparently the Coca Cola Company had their own sets of SW marketing posters back when ANH and ESB were being released. I really don’t know how these tied in with their product, they’re simply very cool-looking SW posters.

I should have posted this in my previous post, but I forgot, so here’s a somewhat cheesy newspaper ad which I find kind of amusing for some reason;

It’s not their fault, they’re just drawn that way.

Han: Hey Lando! You kept your promise, right? Not a scratch?
Lando: Well, what’s left of her isn’t scratched. All the scratched parts got knocked off along the way.
Han (exasperated): Knocked off?!

I don’t know how the insipid post-AOTC EU got away with publishing a novel featuring a Jedi with a red lightsaber. Whatever the answer may be, I just love that this cover exists.

This cover suffers from a disturbing lack of space Nazis.
