forum.fanres.com has a guide on how to do this. They call it UAR for Ultimate Aspect Ratio.
Update: I think its best that I don’t distribute this project anymore because 4K Web-DLs are available of all the Marvel IMAX films, sourced from Disney+. If you would like to see those, you could find them the normal place you’d find movies like this. Thanks for all your support guys!
So I’ve finally aquired the German iTunes version of Infinity War. The movie is opened up to 1.78:1 and unfortunately some image information is lost on the side but it’s the closest we’re going to get to IMAX. This is sourced from iTunes so the quality isn’t that good and I plan on doing what Adywan did for the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Jakku scene that was in the IMAX ratio. All I need to know is HOW he did it. I have a rip of the blu ray at my ready and plan to overlay the blu ray over the iTunes version. If anyone here knows how to do this that would be great. I have adobe premiere pro, and if I can do it in that software without loosing quality that would be fantastic!
Thanks!

Edit: This is an example of what I need to do:
Edit 1/24/18:
Work has stalled on this project for a while now, and I just wanted to give the few people that asked me about this an update. I have to focus on school and work and so I won’t be able to work on it as of now. Hopefully in the summer though!

Does the 3D BR have the full aspect ratio like the other Marvel 3D BRs? If so then it’d be helpful with this project.
And if you’re looking for help with this, spoRv/Andrea makes a lot of UAR versions of films like this, so it’d be wise to ask him for assistance

Yeah the 3D Blu-Ray is only in 2.39:1, but I’ll ask him for assistance!

Ok I so know what I need to do and I can do it in Premiere! I just need to know one more thing… is there any way that I can export videos in Premiere without loosing any quality because obviously, quality is the main reason I’m doing this project.

Just make sure to encode at a very high bitrate so there won’t be any new artifacts introduced.
“You don’t really mean you’ll kill me, do you?” - Juror 8
“Silence, Earthling! My name is Darth Vader. I am an extra-terrestrial from the planet Vulcan!” - Calvin “Marty” Klein
Alrighty then! I’m not sure if the German IMAX version has a different color grade… I hope it doesn’t because I don’t know how to do a regrade.

Export prores and encode again in handbreak. I’ve found Adobe Media encoder to be very sub standard when it comes to large H264s.
Hmm ok

Or install this https://github.com/Vouk/voukoder/releases/tag/1.0.0 and you can encode much better files from Premiere. https://www.voukoder.org/forum/board/4-international-english/
Any updates on this?
Oh, that would be very cool. How far is the progress?

Did everything work out Pickle?
It doesn’t hurt to offer help, but it always hurts to disregard those that do.
Such a hybrid has already been released:
Oh awesome, could you pm me a link?

Same here.

Would you send me a link too?
I would appreciate a link too.
In moving shots, use information from other frames to expand the image in others. The rest would have to be re-built keyframe by keyframe in Photoshop, which might go against the “preservation” aspect.
By the way, there is an Open Matte version of the Avengers: Endgame.
Can you please send me the download link?
You can send me a PM? I want to watch it
Edit: Just a curiosity, includes dubs?
Could you send me the download link please?
I guess now’s a good time to say I’m basically done with this. Will update the OP because I decided to go about it a different way. Also have a few other Marvel films done as well that I’ll be sharing.
