Avatar: Water and Fire (in progress, brainstorming welcome)

With the release of the third installment in the magical world of Pandora, a new idea has begun to take shape in my mind. I genuinely enjoyed Fire and Ash—it was visually stunning and introduced some truly unique elements. That said, I also understand many of the criticisms surrounding it. There’s nothing inherently wrong with revisiting themes or reusing strong story beats, but the final hour in particular felt too much like a rewatch of Way of Water. On top of that, the film as a whole seemed to run at least thirty minutes longer than necessary.

Similarly, while Way of Water was deeply immersive and beautiful, it also contains moments that feel like potential candidates for trimming.

I’m opening this forum to spark a discussion about how these films might be thoughtfully combined or restructured. I plan to start working on this as soon as I’m able to get my hands on Fire and Ash. I already have a few early ideas, but I’d love to hear from multiple perspectives. All ideas are welcome.

Oh man, that’s an idea! Totally different direction than what I had in mind but that could be a good one. Really center it around him and take out the rest?

You gonna run with it?
