Authoring DL DVD's?

Using DVD-Lab:

I set it under Pre-Mastering but I don't think that it was set properly when burned. How exactly does this work?

Why don't you think it was set properly? Keep in mind that stand-alone compatibility with DL-writeable media isn't the greatest. What media are you using, and what player are you testing it on? Also, what burner are you using? You might want to see if there's a bit-setting patch, so your +R media reads as -R to your player.

I don't think it was set properly because when i played it back on my PC, there was no pause where I had set it.
I haven't tried it on my regular player (which has no problem playing burned DL discs). I guess i'd have to watch the whole movie to figure out if it was placed at the right section.

I guess what i'm asking is:
If i go into pre-mastering and set the layer break (with the red O next to it), I'm assuming it's set and all I have to do is burn like usual?

First of all, make sure the file is larger than 4.7 GB. Otherwise, there wouldn't be a layer change. Secondly, do commercial DVDs also pause on your PC at the layer change? Different players handle the changeover better than others.

My bad. It worked perfectly. The layer change was just so good I had to turn up the sound to notice it. It happens on a blackout
