Audio/Video Sync? (Formerly "Best way to rip on a Mac?")

Does anyone know what the best program/method to rip DVDs on a Mac is? I downloaded Mac the Ripper and ripped the DVD, but I wasn't entirely sure if I used the best settings or even the best program. Also what should I use to convert the AC3 file to a .wav or .aiff file? I'm going to be editing on a Mac with Final Cut Pro 5, and I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks!

Mac the Ripper should serve you well, it's what I use. If you're not sure on what the best settings are, try reading the help? I'm not being facetious, just saying. Read up on what means what on the internet if you have to.

As for converting AC3, the only (free) program I found for that on the Mac is mAC3dec. Outputs to AIFF, WAV, PCM, MP3, MOV. Very simple and easy to use. It just does it.

Okay, cool. Yeah, I skimmed it briefly to get an idea of where to get what (I've used SmartRipper on Windows for audio ripping, so I had a basic idea of what I was looking for to set up the rip). I'll play around with it.

I tried downloading mAC3dec, but all I got was this .sit file or something like that. Is there some other specific program you need to use it?

Try "Stuffit", i think it's installed in Mac OSX.

I used Mactheripper to rip the DVD then I purchased Miraizon Cinematize.

They work great.

Well, I tried to edit today. I put the video and audio in place on the timeline in FinalCut Pro and rendered it. It started in sync, and the lengths and everything were exactly the same, but somehow by the end of the show, the thing was completely out of sync. Does anyone know how to fix this, or at least what caused it?

Also, there are frequent blue flashes, and I don't know what is causing them.

Can anyone help?
