To me the definite edition would included the two tv scenes, the good bad i'm the guy with the gun line, the s-mart ending all spliced into the director's cut.

Pretty sure this version has all that, and has the other ending put into another cut also included on the disc. I also believe both versions have alternate versions with a different intro, meaning... 4 versions, altogether? If I'm not mistaken. But it's been a long time since I saw this edit, and I don't have access to it anymore. I'd love to get it again.

Indeed it does, all available through seemless branching.

And Scream Factory has revealed that their forthcoming Army of Darkness: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray (due on 10/27) will now be a 3-disc set (and not the 2-disc set previously expected). All-new extras will include the 96-minute Medieval Times: The Making of Army of Darkness featurette, offering new interviews (with star/co-producer Bruce Campbell, actors Marcus Gilbert, Ted Raimi, Timothy Quill, Richard Grove, Bill Moseley, Patricia Tallman and Angela Featherstone, director of photography Bill Pope, editor Bob Murawski, production designer Anthony Tremblay, composer Joseph Lo Duca, costume designer Ida Gearon, special make-up effects artists Howard Berger, Tony Gardner, Robert Kurtzman and Greg Nicotero, “Pit Bitch” performer and effects artist William Bryan, mechanical effects artist Gary Jones, first assistant director John Cameron, visual effects supervisor William Mesa, and stunt coordinator Christopher Doyle). You’ll also get 55 minutes of new Behind-the-Scenes Footage From KNB Effects, new still galleries of behind-the-scenes photos and props, and storyboards for deleted and alternate scenes. In terms of other material, Disc One will include the 81-minute Theatrical Version with DTS-HD 5.1 audio, the original ending, the original opening, and deleted scenes (with Raimi and Campbell commentary), plus the trailer, TV spots, and the home video promo. Disc Two will include the 96-minute Director’s Cut with DTS-HD 5.1 and 2.0 audio, with audio commentary by Sam Raimi, Campbell, and Ivan Raimi, 2 vintage featurettes (Creating the Deadites and Making of) and extended interview clips with Raimi, Campbell, and Robert Tapert. And Disc Three will include a new 4K scan of the 88-minute International Cut interpositive with DTS-HD 5.1 and 2.0 audio, the 90-minute Television Version (1.33:1 in SD) with DTS-HD 2.0 audio, and the vintage The Men Behind the Army featurette.

Hate to bump an old thread, but also looking for a download for the Primitive Screwhead edition to complete my collection of versions of AoD. Are there any dependable links? I found a torrent, but doesn’t seem active. Would be willing to pay for a hard copy of the DVD (within reason) if someone wants to ship me one

Troy - I appreciate you trying to help out, but I don’t think you understood what I was saying. I was asking if anyone has actually seen the early workprint - the rough cut that is supposedly 2 hours long. Obviously it includes something over the 96 min director’s cut. If you were to take the 4 deleted scenes from the workprint which are featured on Anchor Bay’s or MGM’s special editions in the deleted scenes section and edited them into the 96 min director’s cut, then all you come up with is a movie that is roughly 104 min long - about 16 minutes shy of 2 hours. That includes all of those deleted scenes - the original opening with no S-Mart footage at all, the Ash and Arthur confrontation, the original windmill sequence (which is much longer than the version the SciFi Channel shows - the rough-cut version has extra stuff like more shots of Ash wondering around outside the windmill at night), and Ash recruiting Henry the Red. I believe that all of that is footage from that 2-hour rough cut.

So let’s recap -

The Director’s Cut - 96 min
Director’s Cut extended with the 4 deleted scenes from the rough cut - 104 min
The Rough-Cut - supposedly 120 min

So all I’m saying is that I wonder what kind of extra footage was in the rough cut. I’m pretty sure it was just a bunch of pointless shots - like the extra shots of Ash wondering around the woods outside the windmill that aren’t featured in the TV cut of the film - but just maybe there’s something significant. I’m a huge fan of this movie, and I wish I could see every scrap of footage shot for it and include it on my DVD - I know that isn’t possible, but wouldn’t that be great? Anyways - I doubt anyone here has seen that rough cut, but I figured why not ask just in case?

ca6n you email me the tv version, workprint cut, director’s cut and primative screw-head edition of army of darkness

Thank you very much, Rikter.

Progress is still being made on this project. The audio mix is almost done and the SciFi sequences look as good as I can make them. In the next few days I’ll be working on cleaning up the rest of the dirt in the deleted “Ash recruits Henry the Red” sequence. I’ve already spent plenty of hours removing the dirt and markings on this sequence, and in the end it will look as good as it possibly can.
