You can use the magic wand in Photoshop to select only the logo, cut it to its own layer, hide it, and then reconstruct the void with the rubber stamp tool.

djsmokingjam, I have been reading this post for a while and am DYING to get this once you're finished but for now to help you speed up your process I did the hard work for you and fixed the cover so you can freely move the AOD logo around as you wish. I will be happy to send it to you in photoshop format so you can make the perfect cover. Send me an email hollowest@hotmail.com

Thanks Demonovation, e-mail sent.

Does anyone have any opinion as to what distributor logos should be on the sleeve? I've only been using Anchor Bay so far, though since Universal are the rights holder (hence why you'll never see another AB release of AOD again!) maybe it makes more sense to put them? Or screw them and put either DEG or Renaissance, or even RidgeShark's?

A small point, but I do want to get this right By the way, if anyone has a font that includes the Universal logo, please do PM, it would be a big help!

Anyone who wants to download the first draft of my sleeve design can do so at http://download.yousendit.com/54C400A4738B1F1C. Any feedback would be dearly appreciated. As I said before, I'm thinking of taking the Anchor Bay logo off it, as well as making the main text on the back smaller and putting it next to a picture of Ash (since there's no Bruce pics except for the front cover!).

Enjoy!

and now the edit is available, think it had something to do with the little check box...still bollocks.

That's interesting hitting the return key to login also simultaneously logs you a blank reply...bollocks.

Anyway I was going to fix the AOD logo this weekend however life had other plans. I would love to spend the 10 hours at me job working on it, but Dell's not going to give me Photoshop. At first though I would say use the Anchorbay logo, however since they seem to be a bunch of tossers that are unwilling to release a full version of the film that fans are screaming for, I say go with DEG or Renaissance. djsmokingjam email me if you want my template, for the cover. It's as easy as dropping your existing work and dragging it to the guides. Without looking as I'm at work, I believe it's at 300dpi for print quality. dolemen@yahoo.com

Wow, the cover looks great! I would definitely ditch the anchor bay logo in favor of something else. Also for the back I was thinking the image of Ash from the original art maybe flipped so he faces the right side with all the extra image erased so it is just ash and then the blurb there on the right where he's looking. I like the blurb it sounds good. I could make a quick mock up and post it so you could see it.

Which cover are you referring to? Please do post your version of the cover though, very curious to see anyone else's interpretation

I've been constantly revising this - here's the sixth draft uploaded for comments etc. http://download.yousendit.com/8076957E2EF74410 And yes, darkjedi, I'll make sure to do disc art too.

Anyone heard from Scott?

So, I haven't seen a post from RidgeShark in a while, I wonder how this is going and how soon it should be finished.

I talked to him via PM late in November. At that time the project seemed to be coming along well.

But 2 months later still no word? And he said it would be done in October. I'm wondering if this is a dead project...

It might be on the same release schedule as the X0 project, that is what I am thinking.

I have heard from an ex-member of this forum that he has a copy of the final result of this edit. I will post here when I have more information.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

I know someone was asked if they would like to pre-view the edit just incase there was anything RidgeShark had missed. They agreed, however no more contact occured after that and they never did view the edit apperantly.

The ex-member I was referring to is Garrett (ocpmovie), who tells me that the version he has is the final version of this edit. I should be getting a copy very soon.

and once you get it will you upload for all to enjoy,or will it be by trade only?

I have also decided I am going to take a crack at this too,I am going to put the deleted scenes back in the movie, but I do not have the sci-fi version(wish I did).

I will be using Army of Darkness MGM region 3 for main movie, and bits and pieces from the other versions as well.

My ISP is far too janky for me to upload full DVDs, but I'll happily forward a copy to you to post for everyone's enjoyment. I've also got the Sci-Fi cut on DVD, if you'd like that too. Scott (RidgeShark) sent me a DVD version of it that he capped for use in this project.

Do you think it is alright to distribute RidgeShark's project without his permission? He sent some copies out for people to preview, but he did not send them out for free distribution or "officially" release it, did he? Maybe his intention of giving out a few copies was that it would get leaked by one of us and his hands would be clean of responsible for the distribution. I guess that could explain his sudden disappearance. But that is a lot to assume.

Wait until you see Ridge's version before you decide to go through all the trouble of reinserting them yourself. To each their own, but I don't see why you would want to redo what has already been done so well before.

Let's wait to hear from RidgeShark before it gets distributed.

I second that. Distributing (or selling) something without the promission of the guy who made the project is a pretty Garrett-ish thing to do. Last I heard from Ridge was that he was just about done, but was not ready to release it yet. I really don't think it is right to assume that just because he has not been around that his approval is no longer needed before distribution begins.
