They want you to buy it twice. And if you can’t wait four extra days but also want a physical copy, thrice.

^I’m actually super pleased that the digital release won’t be March 15 as was rumored, because I probably would have bought it twice if it was 21 days before the blu-ray. Four days, I can handle.

I was mad when I read the rumor, but I would have waited. I’ve never bought a digital movie. They usually cost the same as BDs, are lower quality, and I actually find them less convenient than physical media (i.e, it’s easier to take to a friend’s place, lend, and even play in your own home).

Oh yeah, I had the blu-ray preordered before that rumor even hit and I wasn’t going to cancel it. I just didn’t trust myself not to cave and shell out the fourteen bucks to watch it right away.

The U.K. Duracell ad makes it look like the Blu-Ray has the same cover as the DVD under the slip cover.

I could live with that.
But what’s up with all the different Blu-Rey versions in the US, I bet us in Europe won’t get any extra bonus material. I bet the 3D version gets more bonuses as well…

Looking at the Blu Ray release here in the U.K it seems we have just a light side or darkside slipcase or a steelbook Zavvi exclusive all with the release date of April 18th.

They won’t be getting me to double dip, I’ll just rent the 2D Blu-ray and buy the 3D whenever it comes out.
