Please send me an email, like it says in my signature. I don't reply to PMs.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Might you be able to torrent it, if you have it on DVD?

Take care,

I'd torrent it if I didn't share my connection with four other people, who are basically left with a crazily slow connection until it's done seeding. If someone wants to send me blanks and postage and then make Weird Al torrents, that would be cool. Here's what I got, in terms of Al stuff:

Concert: 7/29/1983 - New York City, NY - The Bottom Line
Concert: 6/9/1984 - Los Angeles, CA - Starlight Ampitheater
Concert: 8/23/1994 - Danbury, CT - Tuxedo Junction
Concert: 7/13/1996 - Seymore, WI
Concert: 7/24/2000 - Costa Mesa, CA - Orange County Fair
Al-TV #1 4/1/1984 (2 discs, includes original videos and commercials)
Al-TV #9 (6/17/2003)
The Compleat Al - Laserdisc transfer
There's No Going Home (1996)

Wow, that looks like a lot of great stuff! Shame I don't have a connection fit for seeding at the moment . . . hopefully someone else can put them up soon!

Is anyone still preserving the Compleat Al and the There's No Going Home specials? If so, is anyone also doing an AL-TV preservation?

I remember watching those specials years ago. It was hilarious. They let him take over the station for a couple of hours, and he's play all his own videos.

Yeah, most of the Al TV specials are floating around out there, but it's the Al Music specials that are hard to come by.

You'll want to check out this guy's stuff at YouTube, though: http://youtube.com/profile_videos?user=MazeleyFanClub&p=r

He has almost all of the "interviews" and behind the scenes stuff from Al Music 3. So great!

Hi,

Unless my uncle has wiped out the VHS tapes I left behind when I moved to Finland, somewhere floating amongst them should be the ALTV special from when he released ON THE DEEP END....almost completely there (the "fake ad" for the solar panel "head piece" started out so real that I thought it was still the ad break). Whenever I talk to him next time, I'll ask him.

Kind Regards,

Haha. Yes, yes you are. I just wish that jamiemark character would stop teasting us and reply. Can't even send him a PM.

You know what would be great? A DVD of just the Weird Al interviews - I know the specials are great (I watch them anytime they're on) but the interviews are the real prize in there. I just wish someone had really good quality ones, not like the ones on al-oholics anonymous (which are good enough to tide me over..)

The problem with all this is that they'll never be re-aired, so it's pretty much a take what we can get thing. So that's why the best quality available for a lot of it is old VHS tapes and all the problems that come with such old tapes.

Be sure to check out that Youtube link I added not long ago. Some of the best interviews ever! (especially Paul McCartney and Keith Richards)

The Paul McCartney interview is one of my faves, along with the Michael Stipe one - those were edited so brilliantly!

I have The Compleat Al laserdisc transfer, No Going Home, all of the Al-TVs, all three Al Musics and a bunch of other Weird Al DVDs. I'm always up for trading (still gotta reply to an InvisibleWolfMan email), but I'm too busy at the moment to do B&P for all of these discs. I sent a bunch of them to someone in this thread at some point. Maybe jamiemark.

That's terrible Are all the things already digitized and compiled or do they all need to be?

That was me, but there are several things you listed that I didn't get. (maybe you didn't have them at the time) I didn't get any Al Musics from you and only 1 or 2 Al TVs. If you could send me the ones I'm missing, I'd be willing to help spread the goodness. (more than I already have) I'll e-mail you about it.

I just sent this list to RB and thought I should share it here. It's a timeline of Al TVs that I made, including number, year and album it supported:

Al TV 1 - 1984, In 3-D
Al TV 2 - 1985, Dare to be Stupid
Al TV 3 - 1986, Polka Party
Al TV 4 - 1988, Even Worse
Al TV 5 (and Al Music 1) - 1992, Off the Deep End
Al TV 6 (and Al Music 2) - 1993, Alapalooza
Al TV 7 (and Al Music 3) - 1996, Bad Hair Day
Al TV 8 - 2000, Running With Scissors (there was an "unofficial" Al Music special on Much for this album as well. I may have it on VHS.)
Al TV 9 - 2003, Poodle Hat
Al TV 10 - 2006, Straight Outta Lynwood

All that stuff I mentioned is already on DVD. A number of the Al-TVs have original commercials, too, which is kinda neat. I'm working out something with Ripplin to get him the rest of the things I recently got that he doesn't have. From there, they'll go other places. I'll post an updated list of my Weird Al collection once I'm back with my stuff.

Ripplin has this stuff, I believe:

"Weird Al" Yankovic: 1983-07-29 - New York City, NY - The Bottom Line
"Weird Al" Yankovic: 1984-04-01 - Al-TV #1 (2 discs)
"Weird Al" Yankovic: 1984-06-09 - Los Angeles, CA - Starlight Ampitheater
"Weird Al" Yankovic: 1985-07-26 - Los Angeles, CA
"Weird Al" Yankovic: The Compleat Al - Laserdisc transfer.
"Weird Al" Yankovic: 1984-08-23 - Danbury, CT - Tuxedo Junction
"Weird Al" Yankovic: There's No Going Home (1996) - TV special.
"Weird Al" Yankovic: 1996-07-13 - Seymore, WI - Outgamie County Fairgrounds Grandstand
"Weird Al" Yankovic: 2000-07-24 - Costa Mesa, CA - Orange County Fair
"Weird Al" Yankovic: 2003-06-17 - Al-TV #9
