Anyone else want to see... an animated series set between ROTS and ANH?

a animated series like the “clone wars” based on the the development of the empire. It could take place intermentantly between Ep.3 and Ep. 4. It would allow us all to see the real Vader in action as well fill in some holes. I am not a huge fan of the CW series, but in many ways it was better than the PT.

Thoughts???

There is a show like this coming out. Supposed to be 3-D animation. I believe it will be on the Clone Wars though. Probably take place in between the pockets of time that were skipped in the Clone Wars cartoon we've already seen...

I would very much rather see a cartoon continuing the series by telling the story of Episode's 7, 8, and 9. And getting Mark Hamill to voice Luke would be a natch, since he's so highly experienced in the cartoon voicing field.

It's a nice idea but i hope that the series would be set during III-IV during the Imperial years.

That's a good idea for an animated feature, since Mark Hamill himself could voice Luke, being such a talented voice actor... But the Live Action series should focus on the time period between episodes 3 and 4.

Does anyone know what will the TV series be about? Any news?
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Well, Lucas has said that it will take place between 3 and 4. It will feature characters we have already seen in the prequels, but were not main characters (actually, Lucas was vague about this, so it might still be up in the air).

Considering what happened in Episode 3, it was mentioned that there were Jedi spread out all over the galaxy. Anakin and the clones turned on that recall signal to bring all the remaining Jedi to Coruscant so they can wipe them out. Yoda and Obi-Wan took care of the signal, so some of the Jedi most definitely survived. Their survival (and subsequent extermination) is probably what the series will be about.

It might be pretty interesting....if Lucas doesn't fuck it up. He has said that it will be character-driven. Considering his "skills" at writing, I don't have much faith already. Lucas said he will write and oversee the first season of the show....sort of get it going. Then he's going to hand it off to someone else. And that will probably be the end of his direct involvement with Star Wars.

what i've always wanted to see is an anime rendition of the original trilogy like the mangas, but only better. Expanded universe stuff would be cool too. Maybe the new series lucas is planning is coming from his new animation studio he set up in singapore. The greatest animated star wars would be if you could get miyazaki to do it, or rintaro or the director of akira, leiji matsumoto from star blazers. The clone wars cartoons are fantastic, they achieved some things you could never do with live action. even though i don't like that dexter's lab guys style. They should try to push the envelope in animation the same way they are with the movies. Just imagine how great it would be if they brought back gary kurtz and lawrence kasden and the whole original crew, who's still alive anyway and make the sequels, or at least episode seven to give the fans what they want a reunion movie, or t.v. show /series showing what happened after return of the jedi. and forget the crew who worked on young indy. In a perfect world peter jackson could direct the new sequel films, and weta working with ilm could do the effects, steven spielberg and luc besson could also be considered.

“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.

The thing of it is that i dont trust GL with movies let alone live action tv. I would much rather see it animated and designed by others then on UPN with some half whitted actors...
