Anyone else feel a "sage" feature could be handy?

If you don’t know what a sage is, it is something that you mainly see on imageboards such as 4chan, 8kun, etc. It basically serves as a way to reply to the thread without it moving up the catalog. Now I am wondering, would it be handy if a forum like this would have such a feature? As someone who mainly lurks here, I very often see a thread I’d like to ask or say something in but usually decide it’s probably better not to necro an old thread. With a sage feature I could reply without it bothering everybody else.
