I'd like to get my hands on that Dr Who workprint and that reel of Kill Bill. I can't remember if there were any differeneces in that.

Haven't wached ED2 yet. I am lazy. Also, currently absorbed in the EE of King Kong.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

The Kill Bill is a homemade dvd I made back when the "workprint" was released right after Vol1 hit theaters. It's the version where none of the reel-changes are implimented, so every 10 or 15 mins or so, the countdown starts and the next reel starts. it's an mpeg-> dvd conversion (my 2nd ever) and is only 1.49gig big. Without the trailers (the original "no volume" one and the "volume 1" one I taked on at the end), it clocks in at 1hr:55m. The "Property of Miramax" is all over it, and I really couldn't spot any differences between it and the regular version, other then the reel breaks. I did it when an animated menu in tmpeg I think.

The Dr Who workprint is a true workprint, with mainly "fx missing" and "title here" shots throughout. My buddy in Japan actually has the Reg2 dvd and managed to get me one as well for X-mas, which he should be stateside in 8 hours, which is good for me. ^_^ This one is barebones and has one of the generic "stand alone dvd recorder" menus, and chapters I think every 15 mins.

If ya want copies, Beastley, shoot me an email or a pm.

I just went through a quick scan of Dr Who. It's about 2nd or 3rd Gen vhs, and there are alot more "incomplete FX shots" then I remembered. Time codes bounce all over the place, as do they change types (depending on the FX shot). Some of the green screen parts are great, especially the last scene with Eric Roberts. It's a full 90 mins and clocks in at 3.49gig (I downloaded this one). Personally I love the 8th Doctor, and hate that this is his only screen appearance, but Roberts did a great job as the Master imo. I'm still waiting on fixer to finish his preservations and send them my way so I can PIF them.

Definitely tag me when you get back from holiday so we can work something out. My buddy who'll be in from Japan is a slobbering ED fan like myself, so he's dig the workprint of ED2. Shoot me an email and I'll get yer stuff out the door asap.

I've got a question: does anyone out there have the Men In Black workprint? The one where the aliens haven't been added in yet and are played by actors instead?

It's pretty interesting though, 'Mallrats' only came about because the title was withdrawn and when Smith asked why, they told him it was because they were going to re-issue a lot of their best-selling titles, and 'Mallrats' was among them. They also made it clear that they were going to release the set with or without his help. They've also said the same thing about 'Dogma' - It's up to him if he wants to participate, but they're going to release it regardless...
This cannot be entirely true seeing as Universal does not own Dogma. It is a co-production between Lionsgate and Columbia, and it was released through Sony, who controls the DVD rights. As plenty of people have said I imagine now that Smith has done his Clerks X and Mallrats 10th Anniversary discs that Sony will be willing to wait for Smith before cranking out another DVD set -- and given that they released Panic Room and Black Hawk Down, while it may be unneccessary, we might get a 3-discer again.

I imagine there isn't much in it, but I also was hearing about an American Pie workprint, and also a Hard Target workprint that restores a lot of John Woo action. And I would certainly be all over Darkman. I can't believe Universal hasn't done an SE with the TV show pilot, audio commentary and perhaps even as a "director's cut" with some of the deleted scenes Bruce mentions in his book restored given that Raimi has made Spider-Man into a huge franchise.

All the deleted stuff from the Hard Target workprint is on Youtube. Just type in "workprint" and you're pretty much there.

At a speaking gig in Akron a few weeks ago, Kevin said that the long cut of Dogma has been assembled and effects are being worked on for the deleted sequence where Azrael shows Bethany what hell is really like. So it should be out this year.

Wow, this thread is a year and a half old? Where the hell did the time go?

In that time, I got two different copies of the Fight Club workprint on DVD, one's from a really low-gen source. We can probably work out a deal, shoot me an email.

I got a workprint of The Dark Crystal off a small nova, if you know what I'm saying. It's quite interesting, but it's mostly just a few rearranged scenes.

Was the one you snagged the full DVD version, or the MP4 video file?

The MP4. I'd like to see if they put out a DVD, though. I'd download that in a heartbeat.

When Demonoid resolves its issues (it was back briefly earlier, but it's temporarily down again to resolve some bugs), search for it on there and you'll find updates on a DVD version. The latest was that the guy was trying to put together a subtitle track, I think. It'll be good.

Hi,

I have the FREDDY'S DEAD Workprint, on VHS and DVDr (DVDr is a transfer of the VHS). DVD misses out on the first section of the film up until John gets his bus ticket. The reason is that the VHS is a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy and that area was so worn that the audio and picture dropped out horribly. Nothing too different during the missing moments, though. John's fall from the window and down the hill lasts considerably longer. Robert's voice remains unprocessed for the entire length of the film (since it's production audio with some slight sound effects and such). It also contains a much different collection of music (MC Hammer's PRAY is a standout) and the end tribute to Freddy is considerably longer as well. Some of the footage that is missing from the actual theatrical cut helps make the plot have more sense (if that's remotely possible, you'll believe it when you see it) while other things deserved to go.

I also have NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3 Production Footage. Here you get to see all the inner workings behind the film since it was recorded on VHS by crew member(s) and compiled. You get to see how the do the Freddy snake, put Heather through the chair, melt the tricycle and so on. Quite an interesting view behind one of the better NOES sequels.

Kind Regards,

InvisibleWolfMan,

I'm always up for alternate cuts and supplemental material for the 80's slasher films. I'd love to get my hands on the Freddy's Dead workprint and that NOES 3 footage you speak of. Are you able to upload these somewhere or trade? Contact me via email (it's "my username" AT gmail DOT com). Thanks.

To contact me outside the forum, for trades and such my email address is my OT.com username @gmail.com

Consider it done! I'm always glad to trade as it's easier and more convient for me to do so. I'm also willing to help anyone else who may want these.
