Carrie is tenacious enough to do it too.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

If anyone cares, this Friday (09/16) the blu-ray set will be reviewed on G4's Attack Of The Show. The show's DVD reviewer, Chris Gore, said that his review "may surprise you..."

That could go either way. :-P

Eh, the surprise will probably be the Holiday Special Boba Fett cartoon or something and have nothing to do with the review itself. I could be wrong.

I really could have fun captioning this, but will politely abstain.

Lucas, who apparently went off teleprompter, then said, "Thank you for honoring Darth Vader tonight. And just wait till you see him on the big screen in 3D next February."

--

good and bad (mostly bad) one thing you can say about lucas is he never does these things without having a good reason.  so now we know the real reason for him being there.

interesting though - i thought just TPM was being released next feb?  are all movies going to be released in one year like in 1997?  or could be he just was talking about star wars in 3d in general.

SPOILER: Could be that Darth Vader and that cute little kid in Ep 1 may be the same character

That is the most lethal looking award statuette I've ever seen!

Almost looks like the dagger the Gorn made to battle Captain Kirk with.

Put a cork on the end before someone gets hurt!
