Thanks -will have a look. I have spent a fair bit on e-bay and i know there are no end of arses on there, although a fair few nice people.I'm after a Y-Wing and a POTJ Tie-bomber to complete the collection. Then for all the missing figures. I'm running out of display space now though.

I have two and only two great memories of the PT.

The First Great Memory Of The PT
Sitting in the theater before the midnight show of TPM and thinking that SW was back and it was gonna kick ass. The anticipation was just the best feeling ever.

The Second Great Memory Of The PT
Walking out of the theater after the midnight show of ROTS, thinking, "Thank God this shit is over cuz I can't take any more of these awful bullshit movies."

So basically it was the anticipation of the prequels cuz I THOUGHT they would be great and the relief that they were over after being completely fucked up and ruined beyond any and all repair.

I had the same bookend emotions as well, Cable. I thought that Sith was a relatively decent conclusion to the movies, and that at least they couldn't mess anything else up. And then I heard about the TV series. Damn...

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I hate it when parents try to tell you you're too old for something. (Hmm, I guess I'll end up writing this in the Things That We Hate thread) Damn societal pigeonhole rules. I'll do what I want, and idiots shouldn't be able to judge me. I just got back from a park where I was swinging on the swings fifteen minutes ago. Too old? Bah! Only when I can no longer stand will I be too old to play on a playground!

Exactly! You're just as old as you feel like, and I'll forever be like I was when I was 14. I still play videogames, I eat child-marketed products, I watch anime, I went to this gamecube contest where I was teorically old enough to be everyone's father there, and I don't really care!

The only thing that I get a bit embarassed is to be on a movie line to see some animated flick or something, and the whole line is made of 9 year olds and their parents.

I was luck enough to tape it on video, so that got watched a few hundred times before the actual film was released!

Shit yeah, same here - that for me is the best memory. Fear leads to anger.... Man this film is gonna rock so hard.

Yeah, well I'm in the same boat with all ya'll. While on vacation my father looks at me and goes, "You're watching cartoons? How old are you again?" Yeah, thanks father. Thanks bunches. Just knock my friggen major why don't you. I'm 22 and I love cartoons more than any 12 year old. So what? Unlike my academic father, I haven't lost my child-like wonder.

(I'm not knocked my dad, I love him, but this is a man with 5 Masters degrees and gives me a hard time with my "child-like nerdyness.")

What's the problem so many people have with animation anyway? I mean, all it is is a different medium to tell a story. Not all animated shows are silly like so many seem to think.

Straying back into the realm of being 'on topic'...

I too had the mixed emotions experiences with the PT. Its funny I actually had lost faith in TPM just before if was released and hadn't bought tickets to the first show or anything but then kinda freaked at the last minute because I had see all of the OT on opening day, in the theater at the first showing (an evening show for SW, a matinee for ESB and ROTJ- no midnight shows in my neck of the woods in those days). I lucked out that the theater close to me had opened another midnight screen for TPM and I got same day tickets. I had a couple of brewskis, hung out with a friend and saw a Star Wars film by gum! And despite my opinions of it I *still* went to see opening night shows of all the others. Even coming out of the theater complaining its still worth the experience.

But to weave animation back into it, another of my favorite PT moments was watching the 'Clone Wars' episodes and realizing that there were still some creative people out there who cared about the universe in which they were creating stories.

Is someone starting a riot, or was this a comment about his tremendous insight?
Sorry YIYF, just razzing you. Grammar hits us all. No hard feelings, I hope.

The fight between Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor and Ray Park was well done but unfortunately was distorted by the less exciting fights between what's-her-name and the robots and the robots and gungans. Some decent themes - Duel of Fates, Anakin's theme, love theme, that's about it.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

To be honest, I was thinking the same thing when I read that. Based on other posts you've had, I thought, "Wait, I thought she was older than me than that." Although I feel weird that I even remembered.

My best prequel memory was seeing one of the charity screenings, in Washington DC Getting to see the movie a week in advance with Carrie Fisher in the audience was AMAZING. Plus Debbie Reynolds was there too. How amazing was it to watch Princess Leia's birth scene with Leia herself in the room?!!!
George Lucas was seduced by the dark side. The OOT ceased to exist in his mind and became the Special Editions...." "They're more maching now than movies. Twisted and evil."

Yeah, that is pretty cool. And Leia's mom was in the room too!

Was Carrie Fisher suprised her Star Wars mom lost the will to live? I would love to know her reaction to that one!

No, she already knew that. It was part of the images and feelins she had of her.

The only thing I know is that Carrie was jealous of her onscreen mothers' wardrobe and getting to wear a bra. Hehe. On the local news they interviewed her and she said she had wanted to play Han Solo!

Good comback Adam

The images and feelings toward losing the will to live is Lucas via 2005 story, Leia'ss mom living and taking her daughter into hiding as Leia remembered her as beautiful but sad was Lucas via 1983 story.

Take you pick.............................

Good Memories of the Prequel Trilogy?

Indeed, I agree that the trailer was a good start, those images were an incentive to make me want to watch TPM. Could not stop to watch that trailer over and over again. I liked the movie when it came out. It was early morning when I saw it, could not make it for the midnight show. And I enjoy it, of course it is not the original trilogy but what can I say? when it comes to Star Wars, I am not able to be a critic, I let myself be that kid when he saw Empire strikes Back for the first time in a drive at the age of 6 ( Yes, Empire was my first Star Wars movie, weirldy enough, I saw Star Wars (aka New Hope) after a few months I saw Empire. Just to go back to the TPM, The Pod Race and The final duel blew me away.

As for AOTC, the trailer with the Vader breathing blew me away, I was anticipating a lot, I have to admit that the final duel with Yoda and Dooku saved the movie for me. That was my best memory.

ROTS, my girlfriend won tickets for the advenced screening for me, that alone was special, I enjoyed the ROTS a lot, The 2 duels at the end, the space battles, it was all great, of course I let the bad dialog slip I think it is my third favorite star wars movie after Empire and Star Wars. I think I saw it 4 times that same week. I saw it 2 or 3 times on dvd.

Of course it will never beat the original trilogy experience when I grew up ( a good memory I have from the OT is the REVENGE OF THE JEDI teaser lol)
