Help: looking for... Anti-Cheese Edits - Subtitle Files?

Hey I’m wondering if anyone out there has a copy of the subtitle files for the Anti-Cheese movies (1080p Versions), Reason being is the file sizes are over 4 GBs each and will not fit onto a fat32 formatted hard drive for viewing on Ps4/Xbox one.
So I compressed the movies using handbrake and they look just as good to me at half the file size but the subtitles have been removed, I’ve tried many different settings in handbrake and no solution. I’ve also tried to extract the subtitles from the original videos with many different programs and all that shows up is a Video and Audio Track, no Subtitles or text files.

So if anyone has any advice on how to view these at a smaller file size with subtitles intact please let me know, Thanks

You should be able to use tsmuxer to demux the subtitles into their own files (uncheck the video and audio streams first to save time and disk space, since you won’t need the individual video and audio tracks), then use mkvtoolnix to mux the subtitle files into your new encode.

That’s what I’ve tried to do with many other programs and there is no subtitle showing up in the programs, TsMuxer is probly the 6th program I’ve installed and they all only show Video and Audio, no .srt or any other format of subtitles.

It’s acting like the subtitles are hardcoded or something, yet they are removed by handbrake so doesn’t make sense to me.

You’re absolutely sure your files have subtitles? Can you throw the original in MediaInfo and post the result here?

Just to clarify these are the anti-cheese edits made by JeremyMWest-Esquire, but yes the original version has yellow subtitles during the alien language scenes only. and on my compressed version they are gone. However no text or subtitle info ever shows up in any program for the original version.

Here is the MediaInfo for the original Phantom Menace Anti-Cheese edit.

In the original file, do the subtitles appear in frame or inside ‘black bars’ beneath the frame?

The Movie is in Widescreen and they appear in the blacked out area on the bottom

That might be it. Handbrake automatically crops letterboxing. Redo the conversion in Handbrake, but before you hit start, change the cropping to “custom” and turn all the values to zero.

Tested out a small sample video on custom crop and it works perfectly now, Thanks so much to the both of you. I knew pretty early on there was no subtitle file but had no idea that handbrake auto cropped the video like that.

Thanks again
