Ha that sounds terrible.
It’s been in my Netflix queue so long I’m not even sure it’s still on Netflix.
You would hate it. It’s bad.
Well, one could argue they did that to Seven Of Nine on Voyager every so often. (I used to think T’Pol was wearing Seven’s leftover outfits.) Not as bad as those decontamination chamber scenes in ENT, but still…
Where were you in '77?

I could never understand the hatred of Enterprise, and usually by the same people who say things like “Voyager is my favourite Trek show”. I truly liked the first three seasons, hated the last one, which interestingly enough seems to be the favourite season of most people. The same goes for The Motion Picture, which is one of my favourite movies of all times, but most people seem to hate it 😃
I liked Enterprise. It tried to do a new era in Star Trek after 21 seasons of TNG era.

Well this sounds pretty hate-worthy to me…
The first couple seasons kind of creep me out, it always felt like the focus was what compromising situation can we put T’Pol in this week?
I don’t think Frink would be a fan of Enterprise. The first couple seasons kind of creep me out, it always felt like the focus was what compromising situation can we put T’Pol in this week?
To be fair, the Vulcans were (are?) super-bigoted about people showing emotions or making decisions remotely influenced by them. Her assignment to Enterprise allowed her to see just how wrong and narrow-minded the traditional Vulcan view of humans is. At the same time, she was a foil to Archer’s ability to get hot headed at times. Similar to Kirk and Spock, or Janeway and Tuvok. I liked it.
I don’t see why the crew regularly challenging T’Pol’s preconceptions about humans is a bad thing. She develops as a character over time and comes to respect the crew and their captain; and she even defends them later, at a time when the Vulcans were trying to convince Earth to mothball Starfleet because Enterprise got a whole colony of 3600 people killed.

That’s the Mirror Universe in Season 4. -.- It’s not the Prime Universe crew. It’s supposed to be over the top with evil bad guys and everyone betraying everyone else. That’s the way the Mirror Universe is.
Captain Archer trading insults with the Tellarites always makes me laugh.

I honestly don’t really remember anything like that, there were a few cringe-worthy decontamination scenes, there was just one episode where T’Pol was horny and tried to get somebody to f her, but that’s all I can remember.
tried to get somebody to f her
Ok.
Hm… I start to have a feeling that my strategy in trying to convince you to watch the show isn’t very successful.

My bet is if he hasn’t started watching it yet, he probably wasn’t going to anyway.

She’s done more than try.
I’m not sure though if you’re referring to the time she contracted a microbe that prematurely made her enter pon farr (the Vulcan mating period) [http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Bounty_(episode)], or when she had sex with Commander Tucker and said later it was simply an experiment in mating rituals [http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Harbinger_(episode)].
But then, the latter happened in Season 3, after she and Trip were already becoming more and more close over the course of the season. Also Vulcans are essentially allergic to Trellium, which is on the ship to protect it from spacial anomalies, so it is constantly messing with the portion of her brain that controls reason and gives her an ability to contain her emotions.

Yes, I was talking about Bounty. Haven’t seen the show since it came out on Blu-ray, I completely forgot about the episode with Trip! I actually liked her arc during the third season, I remember it being pretty well executed, she was basically a junkie trying to fight her addiction.

You do recall they were framed for that?

Enterprise started out slow and seemed aimless until they got to the Xindi War arc in season 3. I was pretty much glued to the tv with all the cliffhanger endings nearly every week. If not for the idiocy of how few markets UPN actually aired in, and not counting online viewing into the ratings, (ironic now as it’s the only way to see Discovery) the show could have had a fifth season and had a proper ending. The Mirror Universe two parter was a treat, right down to the mirror version of the credits, and it was fun seeing what happened to the ill-fated USS Defiant from the TOS classic The Tholian Web.
Yeah, there are some stinker episodes, but every Trek has it’s dogs.

Spoilers. And yes, by the Suliban. The Vulcans didn’t care though.

I know it’s the Mirror Universe. That’s not why it’s awful.
It’s not awful.
Transforming into a lizard as a result of going Warp 10 in a shuttlecraft is awful, nevermind that the Doctor is wrong about it being “evolution” because that’s not how evolution works.
Using the NX-01 Enterprise crew as TNG holodeck characters in their own series is awful, especially when the TNG actors are too old and the 1701-D Enterprise inexplicably uses parts of its set from 1701-E; as is flippantly killing off a main character simply because the show is ending when said character has lived through much worse; and (holodeck) NX-01 crew giving a toast with Commander Riker “to The Next Generation”.
And getting into a fist fight with a dinosaur Gorn, then making the most unrealistic homemade cannon ever to shoot at it is awful.
There are disappointing things in Enterprise, but no more than any of the other series in the franchise up to that point.

If you’re going to compare Arena to a sleazy catfight that looks straight out of a direct-to-video shitfest, I’m not really sure what to say. And I haven’t said anything about Voyager.
I give Kirk’s bamboo cannon a pass as the Metrons were running the show and could have allowed it to work. (IIRC, one of the TNG novels mentions every attempt to recreate it in a holodeck simulation ends with the cannon blowing up in a cadet’s face.) And it’s the Enterprise CGI Gorn that looks like a dinosaur, not the classic man in a suit version. 😉
I don’t recall Kirk and the Gorn captain actually fist fighting, and that’s my personal favorite episode.
