I was actually referring to “The Naked Time”. The Enterprise ends up three days into the past by the end of the episode, and the topic of two identical ships with two identical crews co-existing in the same time frame is never ever brought up, so we’re left to assume they just silently replaced their past versions.

Huh, that sounds a lot like the Voyager episode ‘Deadlock’, which, ironically, seems to have pulled off that concept much better than TOS.

What, a man builds a giant mound of dirt in his house and you aren’t entertained?

I used to think the three days past Enterprise was still on it’s way to the planet, and it was best not to interfere with that. (Like Marty seeing himself go back in time, or Arthur Dent being advised not to phone up his past self.) Maybe they should have just parked the ship somewhere for three days? 😉

Well I just finished “The Roddenberry Vault” and I must say I felt a little short changed.
With all that talk of finding so many reels, we hardly get much at all. And the most disappointing thing for me was the omission of the famed Star Trek Blooper Reels!

The best thing TNG ever did for the franchise was make red the command division colour. So much better than pissy gold or milquetoast white.

Interesting timing, as we’re discussing that footage in the preservation forum.

You didn’t even like the Mirror Universe two parter? That was fun.

No, I did not like any of the mirror episodes besides the original series one.

Thanks, I’m glad to know I’m not the only one.

I haven’t watched Enterprise, so I don’t know what that show’s MU episodes are like, but I have seen most of DS9’s and I disliked almost all of them. The first one was alright, but I quickly grew bored with them; neither the DS9-era Mirror Universe nor its inhabitants were all that interesting.

I feel this is the only worthy sequel to Mirror, Mirror. Pity no one thought to adapt it to the screen.

I was collecting the Trek DC comics during that time and that was a good story!

Remember that time in DS9 when Sisko’s dead wife comes over from the Mirror Universe and he introduces her to his young son like this is normal?

I thoroughly enjoyed DS9. There were disappointing moments that they could have capitalized on but as a whole, it was a good ride. Character development was done well, especially Garak, who was always one of my favorites. Andrew Robinson is a true craftsman.

Of the Trek series I’ve watched, I consider DS9 the only one that really managed to realize its full potential. TOS was hampered by its episodic nature and strict focus on Kirk/Spock/McCoy; TNG by awful technobabble and Roddenberry’s utopian crap; and TAS by cheap animation, short runtime, and some really dire voice acting on Doohan’s part. Aside from everything to do with Worf and the Klingons, I have no similar gripes with DS9.

I agree, the red does look way better as command. However, the command red shirts did kind of hurt the “red shirt dies” joke industry.

I agree, Garak was my absolute favorite in a really good overall series. I loved how you had to, and hated to, always question his allegiance and motives. Which, to me paid off in the end because he was a good guy all along.

Which was actually the point of Roddenberry wanting them to swap colors!

Well the Enterprise mirror universe 2 parter takes place completely in the mirror universe, which means nothing from the stuff that happens during the 90 minutes affects the main plot or our characters. In other words, it’s pointless.

I’m sorry, I just don’t find watching people who I know nothing about screaming, fighting and killing each other entertaining. Especially if it does not affect the main series in anyway.

But many people seem to think it’s one of the best Enterprise stories 😃

It came from an early test footage. If I remember correctly, it was shown at a convention. If you have myspleen access, I made a “Khan” package that included the video on your link and the lower quality but complete footage.

It comes from the NATO trailer. NATO (National Association of Theatre Owners, not North Atlantic Treaty Organization) trailers for the first 2 movies contain a LOT of unused shots / scenes. The trailers for the first 2 movies are on youtube, but it pretty bad quality
