Liza Goddard was married to Colin Baker.
She separated from him and went out with Michael Grade around the same time he was cast in the role of the Doctor in Doctor Who.
Grade slashed the budget, put it against soaps, pulled the show off air for 18 months and then sacked Baker.
John Nathan-Turner wanted to leave as producer but was told if he left the show would be cancelled.
This stance continued after Grade left and the show went off the air for decades.
