Cuz it's so much more fun to assume and pull percentages out of thin air.

Well, what percentage would you estimate then?

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Because there's no reason why we shouldn't!!

If you've got evidence proving that we have wronged Luca$h or Mr. Peterson in some awful way, then post it. But don't you assume that we have evidence to produce on your demand. All this is is an exchange of opinions. Get off your high horse.

Assuming is for people who don't know what they are talking about.

If knowing what you are talking about isn't important to you, then assume the worst and get all bent out of shape for reasons that might not even be the case.

I just don't see the upside to that I guess.

So shut up and let us get on with it! Your arrogance is breathtaking!

23.4556%

Who the hell knows? But 80% is such a bitter fanboy number that it's laugh-out-loud funny... so far LP has been paid-off by LFL not to bash the SE to he's pissed off at Luca$ about the SE.... all while attending a screening of the SE to plug a book he's making money from. The conspiracy theorists are really sharp lately.

ok, then

while a good amount of the shots with peterson's models have been completely replaced with cgi, a good number of them are still there except with visual fx fixes that don't infringe upon the models themselves. Just about every fx shot in that entire sequence has been altered in some way.

and here's the kicker... the scene is better in the SE than the OOT

The SE is really gay. I mean, some bits of it are okay, but most of the new stuff is just plain fruity!

That was a highly intelligent comment. Good job.

Sorry, I just like to point out when things are getting just a little bit gay.

(Since Rob doesn't come to this section very often, I'm doing his job )

A Lorne Petersen quote from 2005:

“It’s almost unimaginable to think of the (original) Star Wars films sitting somewhere and rotting within your own lifetime,” he said.
He sounds thrilled.

Do you have source? If you do, then that is interesting.

I think it was a joke.

I'll repeat myself. This is not about whether the SE's are great or not, or an improvement or not. The simple fact is that the SE's replaced the work (models) of some artists with the work (CGI) of other artists, without the original artists having any say regarding the alteration of their work.

Personally, I don't really care what Lorne thinks about it because he wasn't the only one who worked on the models for the film.

Way to state an opinion as fact. Isn't that what you usually criticize people here for?

And primarily, despite anyone's feelings, it's about the objective stupidity of saluting someone's work by showing a version of the film which has less of that work than another version.

If they were saluting someone's CGI talents, I'd equally fault them for showing the O.U.T. version.

If you include made-up percentages.... then yeah, I'll criticize you... that's a bit different.

No! No different! Only different in your mind! You must un-learn what you have learned!

Okay, I was going to ask him how it was different as well, but I wasn't going to geekify my response by adding in Yoda quotes. So thanks for screwing everything up, dweeb. ^_~

Here are some good Star Wars percentages not pulled completely out of fanboy ass.

Let me guess. The collection of movie review ratings for the OT vs. the PT, right? Like we haven't seen that a million times before. Thanks!

Now to say that that has no validity, but many critics panned The Shawshank Redemption, It's A Wonderful Life, andmany other classic films on their initial release. Similarly, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie did great box office at the time retrospectively and look at the critical concensus now. Doesn't necessarily mean anything, I'm just pointing it out.

I just pulled a random percentage WITH a source... as opposed to pulling a random percentage from thin air.

OK. I applaud you for it. Unfortunately, it is of no use to me .
