i know what you mean... im not saying your wrong but i just think that when people said the prequels were good... i have a feeling they were sugar coating it...

as for Passion... it wont even be recognized for any awards because of its content....

I tried to see, but it was sold out at the time. Haven't had a chance to see it since. As for sugarcoating the prequals, I think that truth does depend greatly on one's own point of view. I would say there are different from the original trilogy, but I still enjoy to watch them alot and will like to watch them in order. And considering the harsh criticism on The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones since they have been released, I don't think they have really gotton any special treatment when all has been said and done.

Passion was just a Jesus bashing movie. It was just bloody and nothing else. There are so many better Jesus movies.

Like The Last Temptation of Christ, the only Jesus movie with a smart plot twist.

I am not going to see the passion. I know the story, and how it ends. I've read the book.

While the Passion focus on the wrong things it is far better then The Last Temptation was. That movie was incredibly blasphamous and offensive. King of Kings is my favorite Jesus movie.

Well, I probably wouldn't like it because I have heard some many satires and views on the Gospels to fill up a lifetime. It seems that way at least.

It was very graphic and very violent, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it was too graphic and violent. It was handled very well by Mel Gibson. He did a spectacular job regarding the movie. And, to be honest, I don't see how people can say it's anti semitic. Yes, Jews may think it's offensive to them. However, after centuries of being blamed for Christ's death, this isn't making the matter worse and anything is going to look anti-Semitic to them considering the scrutiny they've endured for that long. I think a Jew's primary concern should be whether this film turns those people that are otherwise not anti-semitic into anti-semites. And I don't see how it does. I was never anti-Semitic and I feel no anger or hatred towards Jews as a result of this movie. I feel anger regarding humanity's propensity towards intolerance and violence as a whole. But no anger towards any one group of people.

If you haven't seen it, I saw you should. It was an incredible moviegoing experience.

It's worth seeing on the big screen. I think it helps it. This movie is such a reverential film and evokes such deep emotion from the audience that you have to see it on the screen just to soak up everyone else's reaction.

did you guys hear about the crucifiction scene...
when they were filming the cross being erected and put in place... (the actor who played jesus says) he was struck by lightning...
i didnt believe it at first but there were also numerous crew who backed that statement up....

either its BS or a little too ironic... (creepy is what i mean)

Thus far it is. Monty Python folks and some others are rereleasing it to counter The Passion of the Christ. Kinda their own little wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
