Hello! I want to do a 2019 edit of A New Hope, Can you give me ideas of things i could do to the movie? I already know i want to… well “fix” the Han / Greedo scene, And other things.

If you could make Luke into a girl, make Vader younger, make Kenobi’s character not force sensitive, increase the size and power of the death star but change it’s name, upgrade the x-wings and make Wedge more like Han Solo, make Yoda into a woman and change his appearance, oh and change the name of Tatooine 😉
In all seriousness, I thinK it’s more important that you make an edit that is originally your idea. Sounds like Adywan’s revisited or Harmy’s Despecialized Editions would meet your fix.

What constitutes a 2019 edit? What comes to mind for me is updating VFX, or more radically adding in 2019-era culture, politics, etc, in place of 70s-era culture, politics, etc, although I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t be possible.

After watching videos after videos of fan edits combining prequel shots with the original trilogy, I’ve been dying to see at least a movie edit of the Original trilogy regrouping a few of these additions.
I would die to see an edit of A new Hope with sequences such as those one (flashbacks during the exposition discussion between Ben Kenobi ans Luke)

I already have seen the fan edit made by TheForceGhost, and man ! He did an amazing work here ! By starting the movie with a sequence of Rogue One (just a bit dissapointed he didn’t make the link between the moment Leia receive the map in RO and the beginning of ANH… I think it would have been even a greater introduction), he included the SC 38 edit, changing it a bit to make it fit better into the movie (I would have preferred to have the raw edit of the scene, but whatever)

Personnaly these would be my only wishes for this first movie. If someone would want to go further, why mot incorporate also some flashback during the scène in Yoda’s hut in order to better tie the 2 sequels such as here :
