If it hadn't been made, Weird Al would never have sang "The Saga Begins."

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

If it wasn't for episode 1, I wouldn't have watched "The Waterboy", so I could see the trailer. Sad days when Adam Sandler is more appealing than Star Wars.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Well, John Williams score was a good thing about Episode I.

Agreed. Duel of the Fates is classic. And the lightsaber duels were pretty good, too.

Yeah, they're too under-rated.

Seeing the Ben Hur chariot race re-done was a thrill for me.

(I'm talking about the pod race for the young-uns out there)

sorry the race in TPM doesn't hold a candle to the chariot races of either version of Ben Hur.

There is another? I only know of the Charlton Heston version.

Yep, there's a much older B&W version. Never seen it though

Yes, the 4 hour silent version, which features topless females in a parade scene.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

It was before the Hays code. There was also a Tarzan film featuring a nude Jane bathing in the jungle.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Oh, I remember hearing that on some TCM documentary.

Speaking of ancient films, I sat down and watched Metropolis the other day, its amazing what they did with this film in 1926.

No, its not a Superman movie, Superman wasn't invented until 1939.

Here is a brief synopsis I found on google:
The plot is simple in outline: oppressed workers, unfeeling management, in industrial city of the future. Workers revolt, management sees the light, compromise wins peace.
