I think the original petition at least made us heard within Lucasfilm. And those who heard us pleaded with George long enough that we got the GOUT. (That it was a recycled warmed over LD master was not their fault.) But that was a decade ago. Social media is where it’s at now, for better or worse. Every retweet is as good as a signature.

And having a statement ready to go is a good idea. It’s got to be eye catching and slick to be noticed as people scroll by. Something with a classic logo and maybe that cool silver border all the Kenner packaging had?

I think it was mainly because bootlegged DVDs of the originals sourced from LDs began popping up online.

I personally believe that Disney/Fox/Lucasfilm at this point are fully aware that we want the OOT on Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital

How could they not? It’s so painfully obvious people want the original unaltered versions. They can’t be that blind.

Harmy’s Despecialized YouTube documentary has 1,186,041 views with 7,921 likes and only 95 dislikes

Jeremy Jahns “Star Wars Despecialized Edition is Awesometacular!” Video has 485,361 views with 18,398 likes and 321 dislikes

HelloGreedo’s “Dear Disney - A Plea for the Unaltered Original Star Wars Trilogy” video has 49,851 views with 3,899 likes and 43 dislikes

It has nothing to do with 2020. Despite the distribution rights deal, this is just an arbitrary excuse date you (and others) have assigned to the issue.

Disney has no plans to restore the OOT. None. It should be painfully obvious by now that Lucasfilm and Kennedy have discretion on this question and they simply don’t care.

It’s a good start Wook, but you’re going to need some media coverage. Try and get articles with the right people if you can.

That’s going to require someone with more media savvy than me. I don’t have those sorts of connections. Perhaps Harmy or Adywan have someone’s ear as they’ve been interviewed in the past?

It happened right around the time Captain Eo came out. It was shocking to see him like that even then.

And I’m still sticking to my theory the real George was replaced by a double, who didn’t have time to grow a beard. 😉
