You know Lucas got a hard on thinking of putting more CGI in the Original Trilogy. I’m shocked he didn’t replace Nein Nunb with Jar Jar in Jedi. Or alter Vader’s dialog to change “Obi-Wan once thought as you do” to “Padme, your mother, once thought as you do.”
It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? No, no it doesn’t. CGI Yoda didn’t work at all. And the prequels didn’t work at all for that matter.
I think Pablo Hidalgo’s comment was a diplomatic way of saying that even though Lucasfilm dropped his sequel ideas, some of his contributions still made it on screen. You know that he, or anyone in LFL, isn’t going to say anything disparaging about George. Also, I absolutely think that Lucas apologized for the slaver comments after a request from Disney. I bet there was a non-disparagement clause in their contract.

I always knew that the name Kylo Ren came from George. He gave the name Kybo Ren to the showrunners of the Droids series back in the '80s for a pirate leader:

I might be mistaken about this, but Disney hasn’t released any film on UHD yet, have they?
Assuming they decide to make the plunge someday, perhaps they’ll make a big deal out of it by announcing something exciting like Star Wars to compensate for being well behind the rest of the pack. Again, if I’m not mistaken, they haven’t even been filming (editing?) new movies in 4K as long as the other studios. Is 4K TFA even possible?
Presumably they can render their rotoscopy garbage classic animations ant any resolution they like, if they’re now vector based.

Well, I had to see it, since it’s been a long time since I watched my 2011 BluRays. I totally forgot that they were there. I ain’t no snowflake who needs a safespace from a movie.
It’s a 2004 dvd change.
Alright, well damnit, there’s too many changes at different releases that Georgie boy really screwed up.
Ultimately they have to do some type of work to make the OT available at today’s standards since the 1080p master is horridly outdated and has been scribbled over with crayons ad nauseam.
The easiest thing to do would be to work with the original unaltered negative and start from scratch in 4K. Disney has done well so far in restoring live action without tampering. The issue is cost and contractual negotiations and convincing the brass that it is cost effective.

They apparently at least conversed with Fox on Star Wars since Fox released SW at the same time as Disney released the other five digitally. Some kind of cooperation must have occurred.
