4:3 to 16:9

Quick Question--I have some 4:3 content I would like to put under 16:9 (Widescreen-black bars) conditions----are there any programs, where I could, if possible, either edit in real time, or sequence panning for the 4:3 into widescreen? (The ablity to adjust the picture, etc.) Plus, basic audio/video editing (not needed, but would help)- Will (or can) the program automaticlly put bars, and leave me to adjust them?

Thanks Alot!

One quick note--even a program that lets me add black bars-with the ablity for me to shift the image in the backround---

Are you talking about taking a full 4:3 frame and cropping the top and bottom? Premiere does it easily... you just go to the title creator and select a pre-made matte. I'm sure other video programs would have the same thing.

Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!

TMPGEnc Plus or VirtualDub Mod can both do that.

I primarily use TMPGEPlus when using mpg or mpeg files.
I use VirtualDub Mod when editing ogm, mkv, or avi files.
