I think we all know who they should be dressing up as....especially if they want to be considered extra handsome.

But why would anyone want to dress up like a lame clone?!  Why wouldn't they want to dress up as Luke Skywalker or Han Solo?!

Because they're watching the show that takes place before Episode III. The clones are still the "good guys."

Doesn't keep them from being lame.  They're still clones!

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Maybe they really are clones and just got off work?

I ran into several of these clone kids tonight.  They didn't recognize me in my Luke Skywalker with Baby Yoda costume.

I thought the saga was the 6 film story of darth vader and not from the adventures of luke skywalker, just ask George he is a trustable source as to the film series origins.

Even if I am to believe that... that's neither a Darth Vader or a Luke Skywalker!  It's a lame clone!  Why can't you people understand that?!  Why would anyone want to be an expendable mook of a clone of all things?!  *gasp**pant**huff*

Took the family to the zoo for Halloween.  I'd say the most popular costumes were as follows:

1) Clone Trooper

2) Lion

3) Slut

Come to think of it, the sluts might have been #2, 'cause at least a few of those lions might have been real lions.

Did you get any pictures?

I saw the Toy Story 3D double feature in the theatre . . . it was a lot of fun.  The effect was subtly convincing enough that seeing them in 2D looks kinda strange now, lol.  I hate having to wear bulky 3D glasses over my regular glasses, that makes it problematic, but aside from that it was great.  Awesome sound in 5.1, too . . .

That said, I don't think I want Star Wars to be put into 3D.  For one thing, I don't trust them not to eff up the films even more in the process; for another, they'd probably use that crappy 2004 sound mix and rubbishy colour timing.

Damned clones . . . real stormtroopers aren't clones.  And neither is Boba Fett, so there.  :p

I wouldn't go see the prequels in 3D in the theaters.  I've already seen the prequels.

I wouldn't go see the classic trilogy in 3D in the theaters.  Since Lucas wouldn't use anything but the SE's (and who knows what new elements he will be putting in to enhance the 3D), I don't need to see it.  I've already seen the SE's in the theaters.

And if for some reason he got klonked on the noggin' with a big frying pan and decided to make the OOT into 3D, I wouldn't go see it.  I'd stay home and cry.

I was talking about this in another thread, but it more properly belongs here.  Just how effect would 3D transfer of a 2D movie look?   I can't believe it would look as good as movie shot in 3D, would it?  It also alters the original version. Its kind of like showing a widescreen movie in pan and scan.  Isn't it?

Author
Time

I think it would be closer to stretching a pan and scan movie to widescreen format.

Why can't George just leave the Star Wars movies alone?  He should go screw with his Howard the Duck movie if he wants to proof a new concept..  At least we don't have half a dozer different versions of Raiders.

Author
Time

I think it's more akin to taking a mono soundtrack and reinterpretting it into 5.1 or 7.2 surround.  No, it's not original.  No, it's not the way it was designed to be.  No, it's not as good as something that was specifically filmed or recorded to be in 3D... but that doesn't mean you can't at least offer it as an option.

From what I can gather, there are 2 or 3 different companies that are busy using this new 'conversion' process on 2D movies, and that the results have been generally excellent and right up there with the latest actual 'dedicated 3D' filming.

This 'conversion' technique isn't just being used on past 2D movies, as it seems that some upcoming planned 3D features are still going to be filmed in 2D first, before being 'converted'.

Seemingly, this process can give a great deal of control as far as being able to pull various elements out into the layers of depth required.

Personally, if this means that STAR WARS (albeit not necessarily the versions I'd prefer) can be seen on the big screen again, I'm all for that.  Hopefully, the company that does the 'conversions' will do a good job of them eventually.

Here's a list of some of the many 3D-related projects that are seemingly in development at the moment -  http://marketsaw.blogspot.com/2007/04/list-of-upcoming-3d-movies.html

I asked this in the 3D thread in the off-topic forum: Does anyone know what method was used to create the 3D Jabba scene on Ady's SW:Revisited Disc?  I watched that the other day and thought it was pretty decent 3D.  The red/blue glasses sucked... but the 3D effect seemed good enough.

I just don't understand how they able to do this effectively.   In order to have 3D, I though you needed two images, one for each eye.  Two images are slightly different from each other, so that your mind processes it like an image from the real world.  How do they create the 2nd image if it wasn't originally filmed?
