We've got two of your cast members here. Can you talk about the casting process?
George Lucas: When you're casting relative unknowns you just see thousands of people. You see them for five minutes and then you do readings, then you test them on tape, and then you test them on film, and you just do it over and over again for years - until you finally get to a point where you can throw a dart at a dartboard with three or four eight-by-tens and pick one. And you hope that you get lucky, and I got very lucky, 'cause I got a great cast.

Carrie Fisher: I slept with him

Mark Hamill: Who didn't?

LOL

Empire magazine produced 30 different covers for the anniversary (i picked up the Leia bikini one hehehe...) - with 10 copies of a limited "Golden Jar Jar Binks cover" in circulation. If you find of these you apparently win something special from the Luca$film archives..........................hopefully the original 35mm reels of the OT! (yeah, right)

EDIT - all 30 covers

Jesus Christ, it's the face of the PT. How stupid.

<span class=“Italics”>MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
<span class=“Bold”>JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.</span></span>

<span class=“Italics”>MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
<span class=“Bold”>Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.</span></span>

<span class=“Italics”>JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.</span>

I'd rather he remained lost...

I picked up a copy of this today at Borders (for $10.00 ugh!) Anyhow, I was hoping to get one of the OT characters (Luke, Leia or Han preferably) but they didn't have much of a selection of covers- just Obi-Wan (Guinness), Yoda (CGI), Jabba, Greedo, Darth Maul and Wicket. I picked Wicket.

It's a nice magazine, a good keepsake.

the only cover i like is the classic trilogy trio subscribers cover of luke, han, and leia

since it is called empire magazine you figure they would have the classic trilogy vader, instead they have revenge of the sith vader, which is dumb.

How much would it cost me to buy all of them?

not to derail the topic, but isn't the quote "more wealth than you can imagine"? I thought it was "well" for a long time, until i realized that wealth made much more sense in context. I guess i could go drag my copy of the script out & see for myself, but i'm at work right now...

Yes, it's "wealth" (I checked the script in my copy of The Art Of Star Wars). I always thought it was "well" too, (although that makes no sense) but that does sound like what he's saying.

Also what it is in the annotated screenplays. As (I think it was) Carrie said, "You can type this stuff, but you can't say it."

the real quote that is always censored is attributed to harrison ford is " you can type this shit George, but you sure as hell can't say it"

they always say stuff even in the making of star wars book, at least the people who made when star wars ruled the world allowed harrison to use the real quote.

nobody would say stuff in colloqialized speech, it just sounds unnatural like some beaver cleever 50's crap rather than how ameircans really speak.
