How about Aliens vs. Predator? It was pretty much universally loathed, wasn't it? However I have this sinking feeling that I may buy the dvd when it comes out. Is there a crisis hotline for people with poor dvd-buying taste?

No, but there's this help group that meets every friday night:

"Yeah, uh... well I got my first DVD player back in 1997, and it came with "Enter the Dragon", the colectors edition, you know? Not a bad movie, not bad, but... since then... things started to go bad, you see? I started to look at the DVD catalog, and there were so many craps available for me to buy... my first aquisition was 'Muppets Take Manhatam'... then it was 'Superman 4'... by then some friends were getting worried about me, you know? And then I moved on to some REALLY tough stuff, like the motion picture adaptation of 'The Beverly Hillbillies', and then 'Ernest in the Army', 'Battlefield Earth', and then 'Scoobydoo The Movie'... My friends did an intervention, and made me buy some real movies, like 'Casablanca', 'Citizen Kane',, the Godfather box, 'ET', and the Indiana Jones box... but then I started to go back to my addiction of buying crappy DVDs... and when I bought 'Batman & Robin'... I knew... I knew I had a real problem..." *starts to cry *
