24 The Game Cut Scenes Fan Edit

Does anybody know of a good video ripping software for PS2 video? I am planning on doing a DVD edit of all the cut scenes in the game to create a 24 mini movie filling in the gaps between seasons 2-3 of the series.

I don't think such a tool exists. You will probably have to use an analogue capture device to capture the video & audio output from the console.

I was thinking of using a standard dvd recorder and doing like one would record a tv show. but it would be nice to rip the video directly from the disc so i could edit it.

Yeah, I was wondering if there was a way to do it too, there might be if there is a PC version of the game and your really tech savy to locate the video files.

Yes that would work too.

There might be a way to avoid analogue losses, but it's a bit fiddly. Looking at www.pcsx2.net, it seems that an emu has been developed that will play some commercial games, albeit very slowly at 1-2 fps. Now if it will play the required cut scenes elements, you could screencap, then speed up to make a video. You would then have a direct digital source to work with.

Actually, I'd still go with the DVD recorder option - if you want to retain your sanity!

Yeah thats how I'm doing it. Record it through a Cyberhome DVD recorder, then import it into Womble. Although I am using some of the actual gameplay as well, just to breidge between cutscenes. It's going to be a long one tho. I'm at one hour 17 min already and don't even think Im halfway through!!

daveytod & Raul2106, it is such a great project you're working on. I have a Mac so I could never play 24 game. I'd love to see the "mini movie" you're compiling from the game. Do you have any other 24 extras not released on DVD? All I have are a couple of season 5 trailers and a mini prequel to season 5, in case you're interested. Thank you for doing this project. You'll make many 24 fans very happy!

I was wondering in what stage is 24: The Missing Day...

work is still progressing. The hold-up is finding time to play each level 3 or 4 times to get the right visuals and audiobites, plus background music, before editing it all in Womble. That said, I'm probably about 80% done

I am on it, ...and just yesterday my wife talked me out of the idea to make a 2h movie out of a 24 season (would have been season 3).

That idea keeps occuring to me to Boon, but let's be honest, wheres the fun in having all the drama and tension over with in two hours!

Well, season3 was IMHO the worst season of all and had plenty of details no one would miss at all, in fact, sticking to the main plot (the Virus) could turn out to be an excellent movie...
............I think I am not finished thinking about his.

Since pirate bay is down, will the torrent be uploaded elsewhere?
