wow! The Yankees are out!
Complacency cost the Yankees. They believed their own press.
Tonight, I shall pull for Arizona and the Phillies.

I fear the same thing is happening to the Phillies.

It's crossed my mind a few times as well. They don't have the arrogant swagger that the Yankees have, but the complacency still may be there a little. I don't know how closely you guys follow the game when it's not being played (baseball-only radio shows, blogs, etc), but it's nearly all I listen to and read all year long.
Since the start of Spring Training all we've heard is Yankees vs Phillies in the World Series, the rest is just filler. Hell, even I was starting to believe it and I know better. The message has been constant all season long. It became hard to tune out.
For the record, Warb; There's certainly a let down after losing in the playoffs, but I'll take a first round exit over a 106 loss, ownership limbo, rebuild season any day.
Woohoo! Cards win again! 2 more wins and we're in the WS!

I live in Wisconsin so seeing the Brewers lose again is rough. I'm more of a Football/Hockey fan anyway though and lucky for me I live in a great state to be a football fan. Go Packers/Badgers!

As a Cubs fan, I find this whole thing very distressing.

there was an espn documentary about him called "Catching Hell" You might want to watch it.
Warb, did you like it? I heard it was excellent.
I just watched it. I thought it was pretty good. After watching it, I have to feel sorry for Bartman. He's been put through a lot for just one split second mistake. I also have to feel sorry for Cubs fans who've been through so much heart break. If the Bartman thing had happened in Philly, he would have been disemboweled.
that said, I am still pissed off about the Phillies losing to the Cardinals. All they had to do to win was score 2 runs in 9 innings. But they couldn't do that. They couldn't score 1 fucking run in game 5. Not one fucking run!!! I feel hitting all the Phillies players with a baseball bat, to show them how they should have treated the baseball in game 5.
Well hopefully the Brewers can knock the Cards off in their next two home games, but I'm having some doubts. St Louis knows how to push our buttons a little to well.

thats because Chris Carpenter's pitching kicked the phillies asses! Thats called a "shut out". Give credit where credit's due. And most cubs and phillies fans are assholes, present company accepted of course.
