I think the geographic centre of the X0 Project is about... Hawaii. So yeah, do it! I've never been to Hawaii...

It would be interesting to have an X0 release date on the same day as the Ep III DVD release, and then get all those reporters who found it newsworthy to interview people standing in line for the Ep III theatrical release to do a story on how grassroots support of a project preserving the original original trilogy is rivalling interest and buzz for Lucasfilm's latest.

If it were my money, I'd buy an X0 OT release before I bought Ep III on DVD.

Its great to see the whole Star Wars preservation community getting behind a project like this. This is the sort of thing that real fans can get behind and I don't think that you'll find better fans of the OOT anywhere! For me this is what the WWW is all about, bringing people from different walks of life together for the better good. Glad to see this thread turn around after all turmoil not so long ago.

You know...
If no one made a profit from it, we could try to make a little limited run box set deal. We could order some aluminum cases from Paul Champagne (he's a pretty good guy, he'd probably cut us a deal since we won't be making any money from it), have someone design some DVD covers, print on some printable DVD-Rs, and bam! There you go, the only OOT set you'll ever need. I could easily see these being put together for a total cost of no more than about $35...

So many transfers and projects being released in the future I can't decide on which to get. I remember Zion's screen caps pre-XO and decided I'd eagerly await those. Now, that this is coming together I'm really stoked. As soon as I'm working (hopefully) at this apprentiship I'm going, I'll gladly donate too.

Small question:
What it be correct to assume that after you release ANH, Empire and Jedi will be able to be released relatively fast, since you would have it all set up already?

That really kind of depends pn what you mean by "set up". Have you mastered a 2-hour DVD from scratch before?

Is it possible to get a update on how this project is coming along? Haven't really been following these threads too much, but am very interested in seeing how they're progressing. Any time-table to possible completion on the horizen?

I realize all you guys are very busy but I think you should really look into updating your site and making it more informational. I'm a web designer by trade and would lend my services if you guys would like any help in that area (ie, designing, updating, maintaining your site).

I didn't mean it to sound like that - it's just that this is a lot different from ripping a commercial DVD with DVDShrink. Unless you've created your own DVD from beginning to end, there's really no way to describe the amount of detail going into this project.

....but we will try.

I've done 3 projects in Adobe Encore 1.5 from scratch - but I'm certainly no expert. At any rate, I'd like to volunteer my time if it's wanted.

In all seriousness, just another OTC fan here coming out of the woodwork... been lurking and reading up around these parts for awhile now. I made my own transfers from the faces LD's a few years back (nothing special but they work) and have checked out some of the other transfers out there... but I have to say I'm impressed to all hell with this particular project. The attention to detail looks to be astounding.

I've got a background in audio production, pro tools more specifically, and know some people who are pro-tools insiders and can get me "things"... I'm not sure if you'll be using Pro-Tools at all in this project, but if you are and there's a particular plug-in you seek or process you need help on, please don't hesititate to ask and I'll do my best to help out.

I'll also be making periodic donations... if this project comes out looking as good as it seems it will, I'll have little problem making donations to keep this thing alive.

Keep up the good work men, and keep us up to date.
