Oh I thought that cover was for like a box sleave that you'd slide 2 clam cases into. I gotcha now.

Hey I appreciate the cover art, it's really nice. Beats the heck out of what I do, and I drive myself nuts when I do them.

yeah, I for one like to colelct DVDs in as few cases as possible to be able to put them somewhere. I haven't counte dmy DVD stash yet, but I think I have about 400 to 500 DVDs and absolutely no room to present them, although these are just the good ones (of course). I collect them in 10 DVD cases sorted by artist or tv show, wherever possible. Look great. My 2 10case DVD boxes for Clint Eatwood are just a view, but only on 4 inches instead of 12 for all 16 movies.

Will finish the cover asap and then ceate disc art.

Just those couple of lines changes, then we'll see but I'm very happy with the proofs.

World peace?
reminds me of a joke, iwill try to translate:
A man walks along a small road into the woods. Suddenly he finds a strange botle and sees, there is a Genie in it. So he opens the bottle. The Genie pops out and looks very tired at the man and utters:"uh, not again. What is it, pal?" "I found you, you must grant me 3 wishes!" cries the man in excitement. "Dude!" says the genie, "I am a very old genie.. so make it one wish and off you go, comprende?" The man starts to think. Then he says "Ok, look at this here, this is a map of the world. I marked the places where they are currently at war with red circles. Make it stop." The genie sighs big time. Then he says: " Dude, that is a tough wish. Can't you think of somehting smaller?" The man thinks again. "Ok", he says, "back there, where I came form is my wife sitting in my car, complaining about... actually I have no idea what about, but nevermind. Now she is not that pretty. Could you perhaps add a bit here and there and take away a bit there and there, you know what I mean?" "Let me take a look", says the genie and off he goes. 20 minutes later he returns and says: "Dude, show me that map again, will you?"

All the discussion on the other thread about Xvids of fan edits made me think that I'm a hypocrite since I never got a final Xvid of these made.

Is there any interested in an Xvid release for those wishing to graze before going all DVD on it?
I think I figured out a way to fix the variable frame rate issue (it's a dirty ugly hack but it should work).

Success!

For those curious about the technical problems:
Womble caused some edit point to become 29.97 frames/sec even though all video footage used was 23.976.
As a result in DVD/mpeg2 format the audio syncs up fine, but since avi cannot handle variable frame rates, the video and audio got out of sync whenever the frame rate shifted.

The fix was cool.
With DGIndex I selected "preserve pulldown flags". Now I had a video that was fully 29.97. Sections that were 30fps stayed 30fps, the rest that was 23.976 got telecined on playback to 30fps.
With me? Ok, then I just IVTC'd the whole thing (telecide(order=0.decimate(cycle=5)) and BAM you have 100% 23.976 content.

700mb sized 2-pass Xvid with vbr mp3 audio.
Now my decision to post this will be based on anyone caring at this late a date.
Odds are you've seen this edit by now if you wanted to, but if a few people chime in I will definitely up it.

The quality is acceptable but size is the consideration here. If you want quality you can snag the DVD version later.

Up the Xvid! I'd be curious to see this, but I am one of those people who is wary of investing several days download time in something I'm not sure I'll want to keep.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Check out The Pirate Bay.

Edit: Or not. I just pulled the torrent. It syncs at the end but it's in and out of sync the rest of the movie.
I have another cunning plan. I'll have to get back to you all.

And I'm out.

I've tried using audio delay and changing the frame rate to sync the audio. No luck.
I tried the above tweak of preserving 30fps and converting back to 23.976. No luck.
I tried using dgindex's bad frame/field (.d2v.bad) file. No luck.
I tried preserving all 30 frames deinterlacing with kerneldeint for 30frame progessive. No luck.

This is kicking my butt. I'm out of every single brilliant idea in my head.

If there is anyone who thinks he can make this thing a properly sync'ed Xvid you have my blessing, 'cause I've got nothing.

This looks interesting, have to check it out after I watch DeZioned.

Concerning cases, I'd likely get a 3-disc case for Matrix and the Hacked movies (if someone made a 3-disc cover).

The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions: hacked.
Author
Time
So you're asking how the Matrix Reloaded Hacked and Matrix Revolutions Hacked differs from the Matrix Reloaded Hacked and Matrix Revolutions Hacked?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say there's not a whole lot of difference. ;-)

I'm assuming you had the opportunity to see them somewhere.
If it was the Pirate Bay/Demonoid Xvid torrents I will say there are some serious differences in Revolutions since that was v1 and I think I was strung out on crack when I proofed it. Reloaded only had minor technical fixes between v1 and 2.

If you've seen the DVD release than that's the final version and I'm sticking with it.

If it didn't suit your taste there are other fine Matrix edits out there too including the first to the party 'DeZionized' (now on to version 2) and Spence's 'Matrix Squared'.

Crap, my fingers were typing faster then I was thinking again.

Ok, what I meant to ask was how does Hacked compare to DeZioned (which I just watched last night and enjoyed quite a bit)?
Author
Time
Oh ok, DeZionized combines 2 and 3 into one movie and removes Zion. That's the bulk of it. There are other changes, and in version 2 action scenes were trimmed to keep them from getting out of hand. The story on the whole remains intact, you just never see Zion. Further details here:
http://www.faneditforum.com/true_fanedits/cbb3dezionized.html

This edit (as outlined in the long drawn out first post) trims Zion but leaves a good deal of it. I removed anything that I found truly annoying or hurt what we know/loved about the first Matrix film. The Reloaded is trimmed mostly for ideas (there were no One's before Neo, he doesn't have powers in the Real World, etc.) and a few scenes of annoyance (the rave). It's still much shorter and ends at a different point so as to be more satisfying on its on (rather than such a silly cliffhanger (that feels contrived).)
Revolutions has been hacked up drastically (and as I've said many times is more a rough cut of what the movie could have been). I re-ordered events, changed the ending completely. (My father describes movies like the original version as "everyone ends up dead or miserable.") I wanted a more Matrix 1 like movie with an upbeat ending. I also explain the Oracle's change of appearance (using movie footage not the video game explanation).
If you want more details you can read the first post, but you should have the idea.

Dezionized put me on the path to this edit. It made me realize all was not lost and that it could be fixed.

Btw, it is available PiF and I am aware of a RapidShare release.

I watched De-zioned the other day and really liked it. I'll have to check Hacked out to see which of them I'll keep for my collections.

Ok question: Since the Hacked series is finished, why's it still mentioned at fanedit the edits and cuts are incomplete?
