TV on DVD resurrected (kind of) — Page 2

More CSI news.... There is a chance that Eric Szmanda (Greg) and Paul Guilfoyle (Brass) will have expanded roles this season. Maybe they'll finally make Greg a full-time investigator since he's been training for it on the side since the beginning of last season. Also, Reiko Aylesworth (Michelle Dessler on 24) is joining the cast. She was in place before the firings to work as a lab tech (possibly replacing Szmanda?) and her role may now be expanded as well since she was cut from 24.

For those 24 fans out there, only Kiefer Sutherland is coming back next season from last year's list of regulars. No Aylesworth, no Carlos Bernard (Tony Almeida), no Dennis Haysbert (President Palmer), no James Badge Dale (Chase Edmunds), no Elisha Cuthbert (Kim Bauer - sorry, Jimbo). Apparently, Palmer's political nemesis from last season, Senator Keeler (Geoff Pierson), will be the new President and Jack is no longer working for CTU.

Interesting, no?

Thats not what I heard. Matt Groenings seems to love his show and I think if a studio were to give him the ability to continue it he would for sure. I think the fact that the show has great Cartoon Network ratings and high DVD sales is convincing the industry that the show has enough of a fan base to continue. It was only cancelled because football kept pre empting it. In my opinion The Simpsons is over. It had a great long run but they basically have done everything and are running out of ideas. I never got this feeling in Futurama. One of my favorite fan posters was Bender with a fox logo on his butt stateing "Bite my shiny metal ass"

I don't think Simpsons has run its course. Not as great as it once was? Sure. But not beyond a point where it isn't still funny as hell.

If they want to bring back Futurama, that's cool. I was just stating what I thought I had heard somewhere. Of course Futurama hasn't run its course, it was only on like 3 or 4 seasons. The question is, can they get the original voices back? Leela now has a sitcom she is headlining (8 Simple Rules). It might be tough for her to commit to two. Yeah, I know it's just her voice and that many people do two shows these days. But how many of them headline two shows? I guess she could be replaced, but I just can't imagine Leela with anyone else's voice.

Speaking of voices... did you know that Billy West, the voice of Fry, is also the voice of the honey bee in the Honey Nut Cheerios ads?

That I didn't know. I know he does the voice of Fry, Hubert, Zoidberg, Zapp, and many minor characters. He also does the voice of Invader Zim another show cancelled before its time. I am amazed at how that guy is able to change his voice in so many ways. True it would be a bumer to have Katey Sagel replaced. She was great as Leela and Peggy Bundy. Who can forget how she says "AAALLLLL". Still I think the show could work without her.

Actually, it's John DiMaggio (like Joe of NY Yankees fame) and, yes, he did the voice of Grievous in Clone Wars Animated.

I think we had said somewhere in this forum that Gary Oldman is going to be the voice of Grievous in Ep. III. May be wrong, though.

If you go back and think about the voice of the Bee, it's pretty easy to hear the similarity between the Bee and Fry.

What if John DiMaggio did Grevious in the movie. What if he sounded like Bender and told Obi-Wan to bite his shiny metal ass.

That would definitely make the character worthwhile.

I'm all over it regardless of how often it's on TV. I think the first season is the only one I never really see episodes from in terms of reruns.

I just read that also. You beat me to the post. And it has special features with all four of the major cast members. That's awesome that Jason Alexander and Julia Louis Dreyfuss relented and are participating.

November in and of itself is gonna be hell on my wallet. Just recovering from dishing out money on That 70s Show season 1 and Quantum Leap season 2 in October, then it's Seinfeld 1 and 2, Spider-Man 2 (mid November), Shrek 2 (November 5), and God only knows what else will be announced. There's always time for more. Damn holiday season.
