Perhaps I’m biased since I grew up on comics from the late 90s and 00s. Granted, those were mostly Superman books, so you may ne right about him being the only good thing from that era.
It’s not that I think anything non-Superman-related stuff from that period is bad; it’s that I think Crisis was absolutely unnecessary.
Instead of destroying the DC Multiverse/crushing it down into a single DC Universe – killing/erasing/re-writing the histories of characters needlessly – the writers could’ve started focusing on a new streamlined Earth in the multiverse. That way they could’ve easily told all the same stories that came out post-Crisis while avoiding most of the negative fan backlash and continuity issues that followed.
