Honestly it would be a better show if he would just call Bunga an offensive name once in a while instead of constantly talking about how bad anime is.

Beast Babies? I doubt Disney has the guts to go quite that far. Though Jean Cocteau might’ve.

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

Don’t give them any ideas! I have to watch these things.

But the lightsabers in the mouth thing evens things out.

Ugh, can we please kill off Maul for real already? Bringing him back was one of the most ridiculous decisions in the history of the franchise. I am glad to see the Bendu’s sticking around, though; I was worried he’d be a one-and-done.

Perhaps they’re saving Maul for a hoped-for Obi-wan spinoff film. Although I would vastly prefer it if Maul was done away with as innocuously as he was introduced.

Death by hologram?

My thoughts about episode 2 of season 3 and my predictions for the following episodes.

(spoilers right here… if I’m right, of course!)

The person Maul is talking about at the end (“He lives!!!”) will be Snoke.
But Snoke will only be a ghost and will not look like the Snoke in Episode 7.
Maybe we will not even know his name at all.
At one point he will take possession of Ezra’s body and will be known as Snoke.
So for now I think the theory about Snoke “being” Ezra is true, from a certain point of view.
I would had that it also could be a reason about why Snoke is a CG character. Since Ezra is a CG character maybe they thought it would be logical to also make Snoke CG. (Honestly I think they look alike, kind of.)
I don’t see Rebels finishing with a “simple” death of Ezra. It needs to be something that serves a purpose.

This was easier. I only had to click two buttons. Refuting your argument wasn’t worth any more effort than that.

Now I remember why I don’t post comments on that site for ages.
(Mods, I’m sharing your pain.)

Don’t worry, this guy just believes he’s funny, don’t pay attention to him, he never contributes to anything here.

No, I think it’s pretty clear that he was talking about Obi-Wan. Ezra was looking for the key to destroying the Sith, and he says that he sees “twin suns,” most likely referring to Tatooine. They were looking for different things, but they both saw Tatooine. That’s why at the end Ezra says he wasn’t sure if he was seeing what he wanted or what Maul wanted.

EDIT: I just read another interpretation. Perhaps Ezra said “twin sons”, which could be referring to Maul’s arc in TCW. Maybe Maul was talking about either Savage (I still hate that name, but it’s not like Sidious is a stroke of creative genius either) or Sidious.

I will say, I understand peoples’ reservations about Maul being back, but now that he is back, I like what they’re doing with the character.

Those interpretations are indeed more plausible. Thanks for the heads up on the “two suns” line.
Maul and Obi needs to have a last confrontation for sure and I don’t think it should be done in movies since for the audience who does not follow the “new expanded universe” (or whatever it is called now) Maul is dead. There’re too much things to catch up or to explain in a opening crawl, IMO. So, yes, the Rebels series could be the place for it.

But I still stand that nothing good will happen to Ezra. That little, non-charismatic, annoying character, needs to turn evil or be possessed by an evil force somehow. Or he really serves no purpose in the Star Wars Universe.

Episode was fine. I’m of two minds in regards to Maul. Obviously that he’s not dead is pretty silly and also his characterization is almost completely different. On the other hand, yeah they’ve mainly done pretty interesting stuff with him on TCW and Rebels.

It also seemed he was most likely talking about Obi-Wan. Another match-up between the two would be welcome (and would presumably and thankfully keep Maul in the animated TV realm and not the potential live action Kenobi film). This of course begs the question, are they going to finally kill him once and for all? And if so, who should really do the job? Obi-Wan or Vader?

I’ve been very intrigued and impressed with what they’ve done with Maul. Back when they first brought him back I was with everyone else rolling their eyes but with every appearance he’s made they’ve continued to grow and evolve the character. Originally he was supposed to be killed off in TCW but that whole plan went out the window when the show was suddenly cancelled without warning. So he became this massive loose thread that made it inevitable he would be dealt with in Rebels.

Also, it was very obvious who they were talking about in this latest episode. They just about slapped you over the head with it. This again was inevitable, ever since Maul first returned he’s been obsessed with that character and they never got their proper rematch in TCW. This also effectively signs the death warrant for Maul as he can’t know about that character and continue to live. So there’ll be no face off with Vader now. That battle would be all fan service instead of serving the character himself and where his path has been leading this whole time.
