The Transformers: The Movie 30th Anniversary Edition.
Ugh anime.
Hey, I thought it would be a fun topic to start on your latest blu ray buys. I have seen many topics on listing your entire collection, but I thought it would be fun to post when you pick up new ones and say what you think of them. My recent buys were…
Captain America Civil War (SteelBook):
2nd favorite marvel movie yet. Picture quality is top notch with a decent surround track. The features were fine. A couple featurettes, deleted scenes, and my favorite one of them all, the audio commentary track. And the steelbook art is so fucking majestic.
E.T The Extra Terrestial
Great nostalgic film from my childhood. Featurettes were nice and I’m very happy to have the theatrical version remastered on blu ray.
Most recent buys were Captain America: Civil War and (ordered online, scheduled to arrive Thursday) The Transformers: The Movie 30th Anniversary Edition. Neither are steelbooks, since I rarely get those (plus the Transformers steel doesn’t have the reversible cover like the standard blu does).

I don’t like anime either, but this continuous routine of bashing it to annoy certain people is getting tiresome.
Is it even anime? I was just making a joke about that previous discussion. Chill out.
Not sure. I don’t like Transformers either so I’m happy to lump them together : P Consider me chilled.

Lol, no it’s American and was originally made in English. Japan didn’t even get the movie at all until a few years after the US and UK.

I picked up the newish remastered Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? a little while ago to commemorate Edward Albee’s passing. Still haven’t watched it, though.
Picked up Ferris Bueller’s Day Off brand new for like 7 bucks so that was nice. Rewatched it and must say, the video quality is a little dissapointing but the features are sufficient and my love for the film itself makes it a good buy for myself.

I just purchased the collector’s edition of Exorcist 3. I’m interested in seeing the reassembled cut or whatever it is. It’s not the same as watching the film as originally intended but Morgan Creek lost the original footage. btw the TV series isn’t as crap as it should be but it’s as silly as it could be.

JEDIT oh maaaaaan.
I popped the disk in. But it seems to be the wrong fricking region. I was having such a nice day too. Oh hum.
It’s not a Blu-Ray, but I just bought a two disc DVD of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. My local DVD shop only sells the single disc version, which is really annoying. I bought that version a few weeks back (thankfully it was really cheap), and was peeved, because on the movie commentary, Kevin Smith keep referring to bonus features that the one disc version didn’t include. For a second hand store, the case and disc quality was super good, and I’m glad I made the purchase.
Not enough people read the EU.
Recently bought a 3 disc set of the theatrical Lord of the Rings trilogy. No bonus features or anything but full HD entire trilogy for 15 bucks was worth it.
I went on a bit of spree recently. Bought the following:

Check out my trilogy of Fanedits if you like the theatricals. I am also a fan of their superior pacing and have created edits of the trilogy which adds in a couple essential deleted scenes while maintaining the superior pacing.
Just picked up a couple cheap Blu Rays:
Inside Out
Sufficient bonus material with a commentary for a very good film.
Indiana Jones-The Complete Adventures
Came with the blu ray case damaged a little bit but the trilogy and its bonus features are great. (not counting Crystal Skull)
-Sing Street
-Creed
-MI 5: Rogue Nation
-Furious 7

Weird, a few days after this I got a MYSTERIOUS package in the mail that contained this very same Exorcist 3 set. THE VERY SAME!
Spooky!

Hey Earl, that’s a great movie. Peter Sellers was a great actor.
Bingo, I’m not clear on this but you could search the interwebs for an unlock region code hack. I just used to rip them to my desktop PC and take out the region restriction as a fall back, when all else failed.
