Depends on who you ask.
The guy who wrote the article that I got these pictures clearly didn’t mind;
“I have fond memories of chewing the dome off my Artoo. (Don’t judge me.)”
At least by 1983 they’d realized that it was smarter to label them as “collectibles.”
