Bendu Ballet takes the holocron and we’re back to the status quo.
Yep, I don’t like the holocron idea (some kind of of “how to become an evil Sith” crystal audio book ? Mwé…) but the show does not seem to want to make something out of it. It’s one huge step forward (season 2 finale) and one (almost equally) huge step backward (season 3 opening). The season 2 opening was so much stronger to start a season. Even Thrawn is not properly introduced here; there is nothing about him (his behavior, not his look) which is new among the other imperials. Curiously, the Lando/Jar Jar mixed character Hondo is not annoying in this episode.
Now, the next episode title is “The Holocrons of Fate”, so I guess this story arc might have a proper ending (or another disappointment).
