It’s zoomed in, just like the vast majority of hdtv broadcasts of movies that are native 2.35:1.
Sometimes you’ll see a letterboxed presentation, like how Spike is showing Dark Knight Rises, but this tends to be the exception rather than the rule.
I don’t understand why this remains the case, especially in the age of 50+ inch TVs becoming more and more common. I mean, on my 32" set, 15" laptop, and hell, even my 10" iPad, I would never prefer to watch a movie like that.
