Re-watching “Star Trek V” and this film seems to be the first of the Star Trek movies where the villain has no motivation for his actions. The script seems to completely omit any exposition that explains that Sybok had been driven to his madness by repeated telepathic contacts since childhood from the God imposter. The shoehorned jokes are so cringe worthy. The effects are just horrible and cheap looking. Was that the same effects team that worked on “Superman IV”? 😉
I remember watching V as a child and being soooo bored. Even the scene at the end where they were having a shoot-out with guys on horses was boring.
I read this without the context of the quote above it and thought you were talking about the 80s TV series V… I was thinking “shoot-out with guys on horses”? WTF?
