What sci-fi movies do you have in mind ? (educated guess: Alien, Blade Runner, Starship troopers, 2001)
Yes, maybe, scoff definitely not, no. Brazil, maybe Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (yeah that’s right I’m throwing down with Jim Carrey of all people), non-movies get you way more mileage because you can include Firefly, which is what sets the top of the 10-point sci-fi scale for me. If you check my original statement, I talked about movies and I talked about sci-fi, but not sci-fi movies in particular, so I was definitely using Firefly as the 10 marker for sci-fi, The Third Man as the 10 marker for movies in general.
But Serenity is great too.
