The crossguard saber is OK, but I get the feeling that after the popularity of Darth Maul’s double-bladed saber in TPM, the SW films that came after it have been searching without success for similarly “kewl” and “hip” variations on traditional lightsabers.

Dooku’s bent saber hilt in AOTC was another example, but it was so subtle most people missed it.

Still surprised we haven’t got anyone in a SW live-action film who habitually wields two sabers. Or more daringly, maybe one blade with a new color, like white or yellow.
